Does anybody here use the Bodystudio plugin for Max that loads Poser characters and scenes into 3DSMax? I haven't heard a lot of hoopla about this in this community or any community dealing with Poser and wanted to get some feedback before I purchased it.

I have it, though not used it a lot. It does what it says it does.
I found the guys at Reiss Studio very helpful in answering my questions.

I've purchased the plugin and use it with Max 5. It works like a charm but make sure you're running a really beefed up system. It tends to be very resource hungry. I'm running a 3GHz P4 with 1GB of DDR400 memory and a fast S-ATA HD and the load time for bringing a Poser file into Max is about 3-5 mins. And as Phil mentioned, when I did run into a prob the Reiss service reps were very helpful and friendly.

Ditto both of the above, and I should point out that it also imports both Dynamic Hair and Cloth too... for animation or stills. Also works well with any of Max's plugin renderers. In other words, it's not just limited to useage with the standard Max renderer or materials. You can also apply modifiers or convert the characters to editable meshes, but once you do that, you can't reload/update the scene from Poser again. There's also a problem if you go and change the imported materials on the figures to Max materials, and then save/reopen the scene. It screws with/corrupts the multi-subobject materials. Other than that, it works just as advertised.
