Oh... A few additional things... Yeah, the skull may look a little large towards the rear, but with the "dreadlocks" in place (not constructed yet) it actually is in proper scale. I doubled-checked it with the vinyl model kit and a few still images from the film. Oh, and the lower boney plate line was just a referenced top boney plate line and is not correct... I just wanted to see what the possible semi-completed head would look like. Nuke
Looks more like an Upper predator boss guy. The head looks great, but the lower jaws needs some more work! The head is no prop in my fig! I actualy created a whole new object with cr2. I think you got confused with the helmet! the helmet is a smart prop. There is an option to change the head with one click on the button. Just like the p4 genital. That would be cool:) I have a little prog to do the trick.
Yeah, I noticed that about the Predator in the second movie... It did look sorta like a "veteran" Predator. They also did away with the articulated Predator head worn by the actor (a la first movie) and used a full animatronic Predator head for the close-up talking shots... Hrm. Wonder why they decided to do that? Ah, okay... I stand corrected. I'm not too experienced in creating Poser figures from the ground up, so I went with the prop route. I'll try your fully integrated approach--- got some reading up to do! Yeah, the lower jaw isn't good at all! I didn't bother adding any teeth because I had a feeling I was just going to scrap it anyway. :-) The lower jaw was the last thing I worked on after spending a few days straight on the head, I had to take a break before I grew sick of the entire project. :-) I was going to add morphs and make the mouth posable so the prop face mask could fit right over top of it, but your one-click toggle approach sounds much more elegant. If I ever get my figure completed, you'll have to teach me that trick. :-) Nuke
TigerD wrote: Now THAT looks good! Thanks! Just wish it were easy to texture. :-) I'll have to do this fancy NURBS-wrap-transfer-the-UV-coordinates trick in order to do a good looking texture. :-P But right now, I'd be happy just to finish the 3d model. :-) I,m confused, though, has TBKoen posted this Predator yet? If so, where can I get it? I've got the Alien, and this would help me out no end. If I'm not mistaken, it's available under the Poser Free Stuff section. Just do a search on "TBKoen" and you'll see the other neat Pred item he did--- the flying cutting disc weapon! Nuke

Ack! You beat me to the punch you bum!!! ;-) I was going to release an unmasked Predator figure! Actually, mine is from "Predator 2" so the head and armour is actually different. You created a great figure (with a posable mouth to boot! Waaah!), now I'm wondering if I should bother with mine... :-) (I can hear groans from the Renderosity Community- "Ugh, another Predator?!?!?!") Hehehehe... Well, anyway, since you're the local "Pred-Head", I'd like your opinion... This is a work-in-progress so there are a few things about it I'm not happy with just yet. Like yours, I designed it to work as a prop which fits like a mask over the standard Poser head. I used a 1/8th scale Predator 2 vinyl model kit (as well as the movie) as a reference... Check 'em out and tell me what you think! :-)

Interesting that you chose box modelling... I tried my hand at that and didn't have much luck. I went with spline network modelling. To be honest, I haven't really delved into low-poly modelling as much as I really should. I've read it's regarded as an essential foundation skill. Guess I'll have to work on it. Nuke
