ok, everyone knows about that distracting wireframe image on the background of your interface, and Im sure all of you know you can click and drag her around the interface, but did you know that if you hold down ALT and click her, it will cycle through wireframe images of several different figures in different poses? Not only that, you can remove her completly off you interface. Ken

Ok, here's something I dont understand, I changed my interface colors(nice egg by the way) and removed the figure wireframe image from the UI, I set my new perferred state, but the colors and figure both revert back to the original state. why is that? Also, I rechecked and you have 15 options for background images, the default acrobat posette, then the next 13 are different figures and poses, and #15 being a blank background.

Can't that "distracting background image" be got rid of altogether? The information needed to produce it, takes up space in my computer and serves no purpose.

Fox-Mulder ( ) posted Wed, 25 October 2000 at 2:40 AM

Wow, what a night this has been. First, I never even noticed ever that there was a distracting wire-frame image behind my Poser window. Then tonight I found out I could change the color of the backgound! Then I have learned that there WAS a DISTRACTING WIREFRAME behind my Poser window. So I went looking for it- where the Hell is this? AHA! There she is! Then I did the ALT thing and first nothing happened. Then the poses flashed through and my background suddenly went back to Factory Default. My God! I LOST HER! So I went back and redid the blue background- and now, how do I get back the distracting wireframe? (hey, pass that over here...)What if you could press @#% and suddenly Poser 4 became Poser 5 with built-in MAX plug-ins. Now THAT would be a real good Easter Egg.

I've known foir a long time that I can shift that image around. Usually to shove it behind the screen out of the way of the controls.

I just found another Easter Egg in the Poser Forum! I opened up a second browser window to check another site, and when I closed it and came back, FastTraxx's name in his first post was Bright Blue! No S**T! I'm not kidding. How did that happen? Maybe the new upgraded Forum software is loaded with hidden Easter Eggs and we just need to look for them...

FT. I'm using the 4.03 update. And the color stays where I set it. It tries to launch in the default color. But halfway through the starting proceedure. The color changes to what I set it to. So it must be stored in the prefrences somewhere. I had to delete the new shortcut that the 4.03 update added and make a new shortcut pointing to the poser .exe file. Then all my UI settings stay where I put them. I'm not sure if you need update 4.03 to use this color option or not. But I wouldn't think so. ScottA

To get her or him back just release the alt key once, then hold it down and click the mouse about5 times and it will start cycling through again. It looks like it's just the default poses....cool though. 8^) Marque

The easter egg where you can scroll through the figure in the background of Poser is documented in the manual. Also the manual has information on how to remove the background image and such. And, amazingly, the manual comes with the program for free when you buy it!

Money GOOD! Manual BAD! ;-) ScottA

Marque ( ) posted Wed, 25 October 2000 at 9:56 AM

Where in the manual? Marque

dethblud ( ) posted Wed, 25 October 2000 at 10:00 AM

There's a section on how the interface works and what all the main buttons do. It's in that section. It's toward the beginning.

Marque ( ) posted Wed, 25 October 2000 at 1:00 PM

You're right, it talks about the figure and changing the colors....lol Maybe I should just start at the front and read to the back. Marque

KenS ( ) posted Wed, 25 October 2000 at 1:06 PM

dethblud, I dont like what you were insinutating. Just becuase I havent read that in the manual, doesnt mean i dont OWN a manual. You should alot more careful how you say things. Ken

KenS ( ) posted Wed, 25 October 2000 at 1:26 PM

Scott, I dont know why, but it wont keep the new prefrenxces when I set them, Ive even gone as far as changing the attributes on the prefrences files and try to resvae the perferred state. Im using the 4.03 patch as well. Using the shortcut doesnt work, and starting Poser directly from the POser.exe file doesnt seem to do the trick for me either. Ken

Marque ( ) posted Wed, 25 October 2000 at 1:30 PM

Yes, actually that was kind of rude to assume you don't own it. I own it and haven't read my manual yet. Marque

KenS ( ) posted Wed, 25 October 2000 at 1:46 PM

Thanks Marque, and I found the info on page 28 of the manual Ken

melanie ( ) posted Wed, 25 October 2000 at 8:49 PM

The manual is hard to find things in. The index doesn't necessarily list things in the way I would look them up. They don't always call things by a reference I would think of. Some of the things aren't listed in the index at all. The manual is hard to read and not always clear on what it's trying to say. I haven't read it all, either. It's makes a great door stop. A lot of us have bought the 3rd party books because they give more info than the user manual. Melanie

Melanie, What are some of the 3rd party poser books that you would recommend?

JanP ( ) posted Sat, 25 November 2000 at 10:56 AM

everyone should know that egg. It's in the manual. Or at least I remember it in the P3 manual. Hey I'm looking for anothert hidden feature. A while back I read a post that said if you alter on of the lines in a poser file. You can inport animated backgrounds. I never tried it but now I want too and I cannot find the post. Does anybody know?

KenS ( ) posted Sat, 25 November 2000 at 2:31 PM

File/Import/Background Image and import a .avi file

JanP ( ) posted Sat, 25 November 2000 at 6:19 PM

FastTraxx, Thats not what I meant. I know I said background but I mispoke. I believe it was animated textures. I had read about. Sorry

KenS ( ) posted Sat, 25 November 2000 at 6:23 PM
