Subject: Clothing for children?

Anna ( ) posted Sun, 26 November 2000 at 9:57 PM ยท edited Fri, 06 December 2024 at 3:31 PM

Hello, I am loooking for an efficient way to cloth the nude children in Poser 4 (tired of those casually clad young-ins). I am fairly new to Poser, but I have discovered that the clothing that came with my Poser CD seems only to conform to the adult models. The manual is very brief on it's instructions regarding clothing. Is there a good source for conforming children's clothing or is there a way to use the adult clothes on the poor nakie kiddies? Thank you in advance... Anna

heya, you could try making texture maps on the nude child templates. Also I believe Renapd at Fairywoods (www.poserworld.com/fairywoods)made a hybrid toddler out of the p4 womans head to the P4 infants body and it is clothed with the diaper and a conformable vest made by bushi(available from his site bushi3d.com) Also there is a scaled P4 man to Boy made by John Malis on her site as well in the hosted friends section. I think traveler also made a P4 female scaled version and has it on his morphworld site at Bbay.com. With the last 2 they will take all the morphs of the adult and the clothes. :)Hope this helps a bit. Regards Eshal

Yeah, Jon's P4ManToBoy and Traveler's P4FemToGirl are great, and I really love Rena's "Kindergarten Rascals"! These sites (Fairywood, Morphworld, and Poserworld) should be your first goal if you are looking for kid's clothes. But like you (I guess), I'd like to see some additional conformable clothes for the nude P4 children, too. - wal

I second the suggestnion of the man-to-boy option. To conform any adult male clothing to him, first conform, then (for the "body" of the clothing item) re-size to 85%. Works great.

In addition to conversion of adults to kids, Trav also has a pack of kids clothes which are subject to considerable modification with morphs and transmaps.

Since Anna is "fairly new to Poser" maybe she does not know what "Trav" means. Can you help her (and me)?

Traveler has two main sites, one free and one commercial.

Eshal, Wal, Doozy and Huolong, Thank you for the advice and info. I will use every bit of it! One more question :-) If I download a character adult or oherwise off of an internet sight and it has it's own texture, will this make all P4 adult clothing non-comformable to this character? Is it the texture that determines clothing conformability? Thanks again! You are the greatest! Anna

The textures that come or are assigned to a character are associated with that character only as you assign them in the Render/materials menu. As far as Poser is concerned, any conforming figure (clothes) relates to how the figure is placed, not to any aspect of texture. A combined figure of, say, the body, pants and shirt are three figures each with it's own textures.

Sometimes these special characters have special morphs or replaced body parts through clothing parts. If the clothing is painted on the texture map for the character, chances are that you can't remove these cloth, because there's nothing left inside. you have to take these characters "as is", but of course you can change the colors/patterns etc. on the texture map. - wal
