Subject: Conforming Clothing V3 to SP3

RifRaf ( ) posted Mon, 11 October 2004 at 1:29 PM · edited Thu, 28 November 2024 at 5:49 AM

I've heard that clothing made for V3 is compatible with SP3, but is there any standard scaling/postitioning method to make this easier? The clothes for Vicky are just way to big to fit Steph3.

Thanks,
Rif

Select the body of the clothing item to scale it; select the hip to position it. I forgot: conform the item before doing the above. If you conform it again after scaling and positioning, the item will return to its original scale and position on the body of the figure.

I once posted a thread that described a process to convert V3 to S3 clothing perfectly. Do a search on my name and you'll find it. I'm still using it to the letter, and my S3 has a great wardrobe, and I've even figured out how to use it on shoes and boots :) -WTB

I searched and couldn't find it. How long ago was it? Do you remember the title of the thread?

William the Bloody's tut is at the link. I must try this, I've been trying to work out a way to convert some of V3's clothing...

I answered this question last night with a straightforward, "No you can't, apart from Clothing Convertor and The Tailor" Now, I am happy to be wrong on this, and I am certain to learn lots but I am somewhat disturbed that my answer - which was posted and viewed - has disappeared like the morning mist. So, guys and gals, what happened to my earlier reply?

SamTherapy, Posts do occasionally vanish in server hiccups, but usually the problem is that they don't stick in the first place... if you waited more than 15 minutes before hitting the send button (got a cup of coffee, pet the cat, whatever) it could have been eaten, no matter what its length. More than 30 minutes ought to open the main forum.ez page, which is a clue to go back and repost. If you closed that window or otherwise went on before it was fully posted, it could get lost. A couple nights ago we had server hiccups where some of us couldn't get onto the site. It happens. We've looked and none of us deleted your post and it isn't where removed posts go. Since you say that it was posted and viewed, I'm particularly flummoxed, although that has happened to me as well... where I see posts after mine, but mine has vanished later. I can't give you a better answer, except to say that we didn't take it down. Carolly

Carolly, I never thought for a minute that my post was taken down. I am mystified, though.

Do you remember those stories about goblins and borrowers and other wee folk snitching lost socks, spools of thread, and granpa's reading glasses? (well, maybe not the glasses) I'm quite positive that the gremlins which prey on mechanical devices fatten themselves on our lost data. How many attachments drop off in the aether? How many emails never get forwarded? Even with packet-checking, little bits get siphoned off. (OK, now the gremlin has a bent straw.) My cat had nothing to do with the image which didn't stay attached, but that .jpg is decorationg some gremlin's cranny at this very minute. Well, it's as logical as any other reason! Carolly
