Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2025 Feb 11 3:50 am)
Well, if this is an animation, then have you tried rendering it out as still image sequences? This way, when it dies on frame 150 from lack of memory, you can just close the app, open it again, and start rendering the animation at the frame it died on (150). That should do the trick. In other words, don't render it as a movie file, but as still image sequences. I'm sure Poser 4 has that option.

Yes yes yes..!why oh why did i not think of that my self Thanks maxxxmodelz I think I can get my animation finised now :)))) THANKS
If anyone needs a PC utility to compile image sequences into video, VirtualDub is free. It currently imports BMP, TGA, and JPEG images (PNG support is coming), and can load .wav files for the soundtrack, in addition to performing other simple video-editing functions.
I've used VDub for years, and would be happy to assist anyone who has questions about the interface.
Also, be sure your VM settings are adequate -- poser doesn't "wait" for windows to increase the vm, it just says screw it and locks up. So the VM has to be large enough to start with. But, absolutely, and without question: render to frames. Not only do you get to control the quality of the final film better in an editing application, but you can add in special effects and do postwork easier, too.
thou and I, my friend, can, in the most flunkey world, make, each of us, one non-flunkey, one hero, if we like: that will be two heroes to begin with. (Carlyle)
"If anyone needs a PC utility to compile image sequences into video, VirtualDub is free" Yep. I use VirtualDub too, even though I also have Premiere and Vegas 5, which are top notch editing programs, VirtualDub is still my favorite for quick, precise editing.
