OK, I tried to work on about everything that ICM mentioned. :^) I lopped off the part of the handle nearest the head and tried to remodel it to as close as my reference hammer as I could get. I'm not sure how I did it exactly, but look at the example sticking up out of the floor in this pic. It goes from a cylinder and slopes in on four sides and becomes a cube. All in a single mesh. It took a while, and there was a lot of point editing, but I think it looks a lot better. Thanks for the advice ICM, I even put a wedge in there, but my reference has a black plastic plug in the hole, so I'm not sure of the accuracy there. :^) John

Nice modeling on that hammer Tjohn. Nice sense of realism for sure. 8)

Just make sure you post regular security updates. I would hate to think that unauthorized individuals could use my hammer, or that it could be accessed across the internet;) All kidding aside, you have managed to capture the essence of hammerness.

Wow, fantastic refit. I'll wip ya up a small example of a wedge & placement. Only reason I know...(grin) I've been sentimentally attached to this particular hammer, it's on its 3rd handle. All my others are steel shank Estwings. Nice work. ICM

The wedge should be centered, but it shifted with the grain & started to go in angled. Works fine though.

Thanks, all. I'm modeling my way towards a carpentry-oriented render, and want the parts to be as real as I can make them.
John PS to ICM: Thanks for the visual of your hammers. Now I know how to grunge up mine properly. :^)
