Cool image! But...I think you have misunderstood the guidelines? All you've done is post-processed and composed multiple fractals which, as I understand, is well within the guidelines for the fractal gallery. There seems to be a disconnect where folks have gotten the impression that post-processing is against the guidelines, which isn't true....at least I don't think so. Correct me if I'm wrong. Rick

Rick is very correct Aramina, people are not properly understanding the guidelines I think. Your image belongs in the fractal gallery. I've included a couple of links to images I've created in the past that maybe would not suit the fractal gallery and where one in particular is of the type where the fractal is definitely not the focus. This one, the fractal is only a colouration for an object in a small but unique way. The composition was posted in the Bryce forum (quite old now). http://www.renderosity.com/viewed.ez?galleryid=190734 This other image could probably have passed being put into the fractal gallery as the focus was on "what" could be done with a single fractal. However, I also chose to put it into the Bryce gallery as most of the work I did was with that program and was what "I" (note the quotes) felt comfortable with. If someone else created something along these lines I would be very happy to view it in the fractal gallery and state that it belonged there. http://www.renderosity.com/viewed.ez?galleryid=197335

Yes, post processing is well within the guidelines. I'm going to re-word the guidelines, so they are easier to understand. Cool cat, btw :) And nice Bryce work Brenda :) Nick

many thanks for your encouraging words guys. I am finding this business with the guidelines difficult to understand, and don't really want to get into the 'I'm on this side or the other side' arguement. For me its a question of working intuitively with the programs I use to produce a piece of digital art. I have found that fractals have allowed me to do this with great freedom. All post processing I use is my own work, created and developed in photoshop, illustrator, or my digital camera. I think my images belong in the fractal gallery, but since this heavy discussion started I've been very unsure, this feeling was added to when some of my images were moved into the mixed medium gallery, so there you have it, one confused lady! btw, can someone enlighten me on what yesitis means by 'tubes' (see next message)? peace and bright bessings to you all and thanks for taking the time to reply, with love ~ aramina

He left a comment on my last image post that since I didn't use tubes the image was OK. Interesting comment because the image was not in the fractal gallery. Mike

Hi Mike, "tubes" are merely pictures that have transparent backgrounds. In PSP you can make your tubes from your own pics. They are really a conveinence, you don't have to pull that certain image back up, remove the background and whatever else you want to do to it. I even have some of my fractals in tubes, especially the flames. Makes it a lot easier for those compositions! Hope this helps, William
