Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2025 Jan 07 11:07 am)
Lets get real on this forum people. If the manuals were so great there would be no need for a Forum Every time someone asks a questions we should not say "Oh didnt you read the manual?" Lets just help them out. Pity people get paid to produce manuals that are not worth an equal weight in cow dung. I have this problem at work too (try Taxation - same issues - different drongs producing the literature).
"If the manuals were so great there would be no need for a Forum" that is not actually true, even the best manuals dont tell you everything about a program. This forum isn
t just for telling people how to use the program, people post freebies here and mention poser being used in tv etc etc.

I have to laugh whenever certain people continually tell people to read the manual for answers to their questions. Perhaps those people haven't read the manuals themselves? That's the most charitable response I can give in public. Some of those same people say things like: "Ok, so there is some incorrect information, spelling errors, etc. You should be able to read past those problems and get the real information." Nope.
The poser 4 manual does have most of the standard information. If someone with poser 4 asks how to add clothes to a figure I would say to read the manual, it does tell you stuff like that and a lot of other useful stuff. I have read the poser 4 manual, it is not very well written but does cover the basics.

Agreed! Bobbie Can see where Xantor is coming from too. So Poser is bigger in scope than any manual can describe. But I can tell a good set of instructions when I see one. The Poser 5 manual is definately not good. They assume one knows too much + there is no logical sequence. They would be better off producing a CD Rom to accompany the Poser 5 CD that covers the basics upwards in a sort of Dr Geep style tutorial package than a text choked manual that reminds me of a instructions for a Xerox machine.

I just bought poser 5 and i'm already running into a problem. I'm trying to add clothing to a figure so I selected the figure and then went to the library palaette and picked hair and double clicked it and that went on fine, but I want to add a clothing item ( a top for the figure) so I selected it and it says i'm suppossed to hit the "apply library preset button" to add the top but the only problem is I have no idea where that particular button is. Help!
