Hi all,

i construct a littl medicine Bottle. He is layert with the glas texture from Poser 5.0. Now, i will bring up to the bottle a second texture like a lable. I think i was posibility to with poser 5.0 Material room to bring up a second texture or better a non transparent pic over the first ??

Please all, give a little tip ore a tutorial.

Thanks
Micpic

Check what the transparency setting is for the glass, and the UV mapping on the object. (Quickly checks) The transparency is set to 1.000 (or nearly so) so the object is transparent. What you need to do is use a texture map showing the label, and a transparency map which makes everthing but the label transparent. Depending on the other material settings, you might have to use a Math node to combine the transparency map with other inputs to the reflection input. Try it out on a single-sided square prop. Texture map plugged into the diffuse colour input. A black triangle on a white square. Transparency map plugged into the specular colour input and the transparency input. A white triangle on a black square. Specular colour set to whatever you think would be right for a black object. When rendered, this should give you a black, slightly shiney, triangle with not visible support. Now disconnect the transparency map from the specular colour input. Render again, and all the square will produce a reflection Now, Poser 5 has the Math nodes in the materials room, so this might not need an extra texture. Use the math function multiply on the transparency map. Plug the map into one input, set the other to -1, and plug the output into the specular colour input. You now have the transparent parts, the glass, reflecting light, while the labe; doesn't. You can also feed the transmap into the displacement input, with a very small value, to give the label thickness. I'll try and set up some samples, but I hope that gives you something to think about.

Suggestion... Use the grouping tool (in the main Pose room) on the original bottle to create a new material to create the area for the label. (Grouping tool, new group, select the polys you want for the label, new material, and give it name "Label". I THINK that's right, I'm not on a PC with Poser installed at the moment, so can't fully check it out. See also Dr. Geep for lessons in using the grouping tool.....:-) One way or another (once you get it right it's easy) this will create a separate material which you can use in the material room. So then all you have to do is apply your label (as an image) to the area you've defined (the rest of the bottle will remain as previously textured)... Hope this helps, Cheers, Diolma

You can take a look at the scotch bottle I have for download on my site and see how I mapped it to have a separate lable from the glass.

thanks to all there give me help.

I found another way to kill the Problem,.

I construct the the little Bottle and Caps, with Blender3D
Move the Body to Layer one the Caps to layer two, and construct a second body now a little bit greather then the fist and put him over there and move him to layer three.
Give all of this materials.

  • export as obj. File to poser.
  • put Poser mats over there

It works fine.

Thanks
