version .26 is out, mebbe you need an upgrade? I've seen it happen once or twicet, just don't have a good answer..you also might try exporting it as an .obj..which works better, imho..;) There's also a command called triangulate, another called quadrangulate, and another called cleanup..not an expert on what they do, but you might see..or stop by the wings forum and ask..good luck.

Hmmm, I always use .obj file format for exporting Wings models and have rarely had a prob. Make sure you have your Wings window maximized so you can see the blue "progress bar" at the bottom of the screen. A few times I was in a hurry while exporting and thought that the program was done doing the file conversion when in fact it was still working on it. I closed the program and tried to import the .obj into Bryce and got the same message you described. Hope you can resolve the prob.
As far as OBJ format not being as crisp- you have a lot of control on how your model appears when it is imported by using "hard edges" for sharp or "crisp" geometry, or by using a different material in Wings for that area and applying "unsmooth' to it when it's imported. Thats the beauty of using different materials in Wings. When you export you can texture each group differently and smooth, or unsmooth the various parts.

Here's the 3Ds version of the model fixed. it should import into Bryce OK now.You know, the only problem I have is with the landing feet. I'd turn them over. The way they are atm they look like they'd sink into the sand. Apart from that, great model and scene.

I've updated a model in Wings and exported it in 3ds format, like I did last time (which worked great) but now when I try and import it into Bryce I get the following dialogue box: "A file error has occurred (i/o, bad media)."I don't really understand, since I've exported this model before. I've updated it this morning (added some more detail) and been saving in Wings without problem. Any ideas?
The link is to a 1Meg Zip file incase you want to try.
Thanks guys.
