This is a post that shows how to create a light dome quickly using Wings. Now you don't HAVE to use Wings it is just a quick way to create one but...the lightdome will give you better overall lighting for your scene in this case bringing out the colors on the back of your characters without making them too bright. A lightdome is basically a shpere or half sphere made up of multiple spherical lights all set to low level. You can then expand the sphere around your scene and light it more evenly. I only recently started using this approach and I am usually very pleased with the results. Hope that helps a bit. :)I love the colors you've chosen. The sun and clouds are very dramatic, and bring a lot of emotion with them. Very pretty scene. To me the lower third of your scene has too much ground cover showing. It brings too much weight to your overall composition. Maybe move the camera up a bit, or even a little crop off the bottom?
the scene is not bad but the shadow of the people is not coming from the sun, it is too right-oriented. Try to align the secon light you inseted with the sun, and try to add 2 lights with yellow or rose colours, one on the left of he POV facing right and one on the right facing left, this will add a bit of ambience but leaving the sunset effect you want(I hope). Hope it is clear. My 2 cents. cheers vasq
Mizrael, that's what's been frustrating me quite a bit. I've gotten a lot of good ideas and will continue to try things til I'm happy with it. FuzzyShadows, it's just a quick render. It's no where near done. I do some cropping as the complete and final step just prior to printing or posting it in my gallery. Kristta
The only thing that I see, really is the shadows behind the characters should go all the way up under the heel of thier feet. As it is it gives the illusion that they are floating on the ground. This of course can be fixed in post if it is easier. I just thought that I would point that out. Also the color of the ground wouldn't be that green. You can still have a green ground color, but with the hue of the light being red, mixed with the green on the ground, would be more of a brownish green color. These are all just suggestions of course ;-) Michael
