Subject: MAT pose files

It appears that MAT Pose Eit did not have Poser 5 in mind as it only has a few MAT options. i.e. it does have an option for displacement maps or alternate diffuse etc. So has somone mad a MAT pose Editor that has all the Poser 5 options? Pete

Yes. Daz3D did. More precisely DarkWhisper did and brokered it for Daz3D. The software is INJECTION MAGIC. It scans your CR2 file and can create several type of poses files such as INJ, REM or MAT pose files that works perfectly with P4, PP or P5. It's really cheap for all the services offered. Get more info there: http://www.daz3d.com/shop.php?op=itemdetails&item=2044&cat= I hope you'll get it soon, it is simply terrific, very easy to use and really efficient.

Tanks for the info and quick response Pete

I dont get it? Injection Magic doesnt allow for anyuthing regarding MATS. All it does is creat the pose files. You cant identify what textures or other node settings you want your MAT file to setup. So it seems exactly not what I want. I mean I caanot say "use ABC.jpg on this body part. USe this image on this displacement node and set it to this value. So therefore what real value is the program

The features listing for Injection Magic states it can make MAT files (which are actually pose files). Whether it makes P5 compliant MAT files, I don't know. There is another program at DAZ that may do it, I'm not sure, called Material Manager. http://www.daz3d.com/shop.php?op=itemdetails&item=2012&cat=131

Maybe you're not up-to-date? The current version of MAT Pose Edit has features which allow you to convert MAT Pose files for Poser 5.

Yeah it doesa create mats but they are empty. Meaning, you still gotta go into notepad and enter the things you want to add or change. This is not what I was hoping for so I'll look into the lates MAT POSE EDIT YOu know I had searcvhed Renderosity for MAT POSE EDIT and I did not find the 3.x version. Thanks for the links Pete

Thanks! Didn't know there was an update to the program! I've been using this ever since I found in freestuff a couple of years ago. Liz

You could always set up the figure's materials the way that you want, then save out a new CR2 file. Copy the Material settings and paste into a new file. ------------------------------------------ { version { Number 5 } figure { Insert Material shaders here } } ------------------------------------- Make sure that your file ends with 6 brackets total. Save or change the extension to .pz2 -------------------------------------- Free Quick and easy. :) --Rebekah--

Netherworks has a P5-MAT-writer utility (look under Freebie Zone>Scripts and Utilities.) You will need to set up the figure first the way you want it, then use the script to create a P5 MAT file, complete with any shader nodes you want to use. There isn't a GUI application I'm aware of which will create P5 MAT poses without setting up the figure first. Although once you have one P5 MAT file, you could search and replace the image names, if you keep all the other values the same...

Thats true Rebeka, but it almost defeats the purpose of having a MAT utility I'll check the nethworks tool you mentioned karen. Thanks

It does defeat the purpose :) I don't have any MAT utilities, that is just the way that I do it :) What can I say, I am a control freak (or a maybe a masochist) :) --Rebekah--
