It's not easy to make your own clothing. You should probably have some 3D modelling experience before you try it.Check out the link - it's a tutorial on making clothing that uses a great free modelling program called Anim8or.
we need to put this into the FAQ, it's a perennially-asked question..;) You can use several 3d modelers to make clothes; anim8tor, Wings 3d (http://www.wings3d.com), even the spendy ones like Lightwave and Maya.
I wish I'd said that.. The Staircase Wit

Well I have been experimenting with making clothing for my Poser models although I'm sure that there is a much simpler way than the way I do it. The program that I have to make the clothing is called Rhino. It has so many options/buttons to play around with.I created the dress on the woman figure on my graphics page.
There are quite a few different programs you can use. wings3d is free and seems quite popular, available at http://www.wings3d.com. Some people use 3dsmax but I find that difficult to use and it is very expensive. Lightwave is another expensive one. Cinema4d is used by some and so is truespace. You would be better to download demos of the programs (if they are available) and try them out to see which one you prefer yourself.

Definitely try before you buy. It's a quirky thing. The software one person loves may drive another person up the wall. You don't want to spend $3,000 on a program, only to find that you hate it.There are several very good free modelling programs. (See link.) Wings is probably the most popular. But I hate the Wings interface. I can't do anything in it. I've tried many programs, and so far, Anim8or (also free) is my favorite. I found it very intuitive. A few hours after downloading it, I'd made my first model. But I came into 3D through CADD, so my idea of intuitive probably isn't the same as most. :-)

I would love to make some clothes for The Girl and V3, but I really don't know what kind of software I need. Can you guys help me out? I'm also looking for tutorials to help me getting started. Thanks!
