Below are the settings I have used and the problems I have encountered using Vue 5. I really like Vue 5, but the following issues are important ones in my estimation. Render Options Preset Render Quality: Final (and tried "User Settings") Render Destination: Render to Screen (and tried "Render to Disk") Render What: Everything Aspect Ratio: Free User Defined Other: 736 x 224 Units: pixels DPI: 300 Saved Rendered Image as: TIFF Problem 1 - Wrong Size After render completed, I opened up the image in photoshop and the image size was different from my Settings I wanted 736 x 224 pixels, but what was rendered was 736 x 223 pixels. Problem 2 - Wrong DPI After render completed, I opened up the image in photoshop and the image resolution was 72 dpi, not 300 dpi like I specified. After reading my Vue manual, I am still stumped as to why this is happening. Please try this yourself and tell me what I am doing wrong (if anything) and how to correct this?

problem1: never happened for me, what dimension are you getting if you just check the image in your os? problem2: dont know what to say about this one, sounds more like a user setting in photoshop then something being wrong with the v5 render? the only thing ive ever noticed is that my 300 dpi renders opens up as 300.125 dpi in photoshop but thats a long way from 72 dpi :)

I did a test using PSP8 and the same thing happened with the dpi, but the image size remained as I rendered it. I will add this...nothing to do with Vue but possibly relevant...Ever since XP2...when I scan an image in I can only scan in at 600dpi o.O...I can't change it down...go figure.

Using Mac G4 1.6 GHZ and 1.25 MB Ram. OSX 10.3 (Tried with Photoshop CS and Photoshop 5) I opened the rendered file using both Photoshop 5 and Photoshop CS the file still remains 72 dpi when it was rendered at 300 dpi. I know Vue can render at higher resolutions so this is weird. Just received my Vue 5 CD yesterday and I can't understand why this is going on?

have you tried to do a second test render? just render a quick 300 dpi render is it still opening up @ 72 dpi for you?

Problem 1 definitely looks like a bug and should be reported to e-on software. Problem 2 is not likely to be a bug (I will check that one out tonight). Remember that DPI (Dot Per Inch) is meaningless when you set your render size in pixels. A render of 1600 by 1200 pixels will always have that size. Now, if you render an image of 10 inches by 5 inches, you need to set your DPI value in order to get an image size in pixels. For example : with 10 inches by 5 inches - at 100 dpi : the rendered image will be 1000 x 500 pixels - at 300 dpi : the rendered image will be 3000 x 1500 pixels

I thought I'd also add since no one else did, make sure you're running the latest beta update, it worked out a lot of stability issues over the cd version and the last official update. Let us know what tech support says if you decide to contact them with this.

I noticed something similar like problem 1. I need render images 800512 pixels. I set up this resolution in Render options. Vue remembers it and everything works fine until I open render options again, then its 800510. Its pretty annoying, because I usually forget change it :) ad problem 2 - I didnt notice any problems with DPI, anyway I agree with agiel, this is not necessary.

I just ran a test using your settings. First time, I got 736x223 rather than 224. I did it again and unchecked that compression option and it came out the right size. dpi was right both times. Using a PC

I am having problems figuring out what files go where .I have downloaded some objects like castles and trees for vue4. But when I unzip them in the objects folder I cannot access them. Why is this? Can anyone please tell me where to place these files so I can use them in my creations. Thank you in advance for any help

#1. Make sure you have no subfolders under each individual object folder...Vue4 doesn't not allow this. For example...you can't have Objects under that Plants then under plants have trees. #2. I set up many single subfolders under my Object folder. For Example: Under objects I had Animals...Buildings...plants...Vehicles...Xmas but REMEMBER NO SUBFOLDERS under each of those. #3. When unzipping, don't use folder names. #4. When I unzip, I locate for example the buildings folder(under objects) & unzip directly to that. I hope I was clear :)

thank you dlk30341, I have tried that unzippings for example trees in to the plants folder. But when I open vue and tried to load the tree I wanted it. It told me that file could not be found. I shall try that again though I may have done something wrong when I first did it once again thanks for you reply and help. I am very new to using vue so its going to take me some time to get use to it

Now be sure with the trees you unzip they go into OBJECTS/Plants....NOT into the main plant folder :) They have 2 different file extensions. The Plants = .veg The Object plants are .vob.
