Subject: Help PePythonEngine::DoScript

After reading the thread http://www.renderosity.com/messages.ez?ForumID=12356&Form.ShowMessage=2050338 I rushed off to see what was still available in Ockham freestuff. i downloaded the various python files and loaded them into p5 now when i start p5 up i get a cant be opened for reading PEPythonEngine::DoScript P5 still opens but what have i done wrong?

This sounds very bad! Haven't heard of it before - and can't really suggest a fix - sry.

i downloaded the various python files and loaded them into p5 What exactly did you do? The error message sounds like something's wrong with P5's Python runtime files.

I wish I knew what i had done. Did i put them in the wrong folder within python ? I put them all into poser scripts utilty and lights hopefully corrosponding with their functions but im now at a loss

face off. I still can run scripts it just when i open P5 i get the( cant be opened for reading PEPythonEngine::DoScript) message

Usually that message on startup means that Poser can't find the poserStartup.py file. This needs to be in the runtime/Python/poserScripts folder. Maybe you moved or overwrote it when installing some scripts?

thanks ockham will i therefor need to install any or all of P5 or is there a quick fix?

The attached text is the poserStarup.py file. Rename it to poserStartup.py and put it in the Python/poserScripts folder. (I like to put it in lots of other places too, just for security.)

Right click on the broken image and save to disk with the extension "TXT" (or whatevers appropriate).
(Non-image file attachments weren't converted properly when the forum was transfered to the PHP based coding)
