Subject: Shopping for Digital Camera

heavenis1999 ( ) posted Wed, 29 December 2004 at 1:16 PM · edited Sun, 24 November 2024 at 5:53 PM

Hi there, I have decided to update my camera wardrobe. I have the old film dinosaurs of Mamiya, Ricoh, Minolta and an old Mavica FD7. Could anyone recommend a digital camera to me? I'm looking for 4-5 MP and a zoom lens. I'm grateful for any input. Thanks!

Budget is about $300. I would like as much control as I can get for the money. I'm leaning towards the Konica Minolta DiMAGE Z10.

Dont know much about the DiMAGE, but it looks ok

I think the most important thing now is what is more important the zoom or resolution?

Canon's A85 offers similar specks @ 4MP but only 3x zoom

Where as the DiMAGE offers 8x zoom but only 3MP
