Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2025 Feb 03 12:46 am)
Using the current Poser joint definition system, it is not possible to get joint deformations like in Maya as Stahlberg does. There would have to be a fundamental change in the way Poser handles joints in order to fix this problem (which is highly unlikely in the near future). There are a couple of workaround to help (but not solve) the problem....either export your posed mesh to another 3d app and fix the joint there, or build yourself some morphs to assist.

ideally morph targets should work. That did cross my mind and wondered why others haven't done it? Can't you make a copy of V3 and edit the joints so you won't save over or mess up the original? When I put together the skeleton for one I made, and when yer a newbie who doesn't know what she's doing.. you need a reference. For grouping I got a general idea by looking at how Judy was grouped. Thought it was weird that so many faces were grouped to the shoulder joint.. the arm above the elbow, most of the chest, armpit. It made me wonder if the group for the shoulder joint along with the T-pose are factors as to why you can move the arm down but the armpit doesn't move much at all and is still in the T-pose position.

Mmmmm, well you would think morph targets would work - but only one person seems to have achieved it - check the link above. Warning - it's complex!Creator of PoserPhysics

was wondering, what's going on with the shoulder/armpit area of these characters? Seems every image I come across where the character is posed with arms down, the armpit is too high. Tho at the time this was a WIP, the placement of the armpit is more natural/realistic. http://www.cgtalk.com/showthread.php?t=108412&page=8&pp=15 And altho he's using Maya to rig, isn't it possible to get a more realistic placement in Poser?
