1. A lot of my renders go wrong (P5): the image rendered is always a smaller selection of the scene than the camera I selected indicates. So if my figure just fits in the camera, the render shows the figure with its head and feet cut off. How do I solve this? 2) Poser(5) starts up with casual don in a non textured document display. Is there a way of changing that preset? ( like if you start poser it puts M3 or V3 in a textured document display with the lightning and textures of my desire) Thanks a lot Peevee

Not sure on the camera, you may need to check your settings on the output size, that would be under the render. If you want to change the preset way you start up go to preferences under edit. Choose launch to preferred state and I also have previous checked. Do this after you have set up the character the way you want it to always open. Sorry no coffee yet and my eyes aren't open. Hope I haven't confused you. I took everything out so mine opens empty and I don't have to get rid of something before I start. Marque

1. It sounds like you're rendering to a separate window... have you tried grabbing the lower right corner of the window and scaling it out? It may be the image is just zoomed in, not cut off. Also check in the rendering options and see if you have it set to the appropriate output size. 2) Open Poser. Delete Don. Set up the interface however you like it, scale the window, move toolbars, whatever. Now, go to the menus "Edit>General Preferences". You'll see a window pop up that has some settings. Check "Launch to Preferred State" and then click the button that says "Set Preferred State". That should get you there.

Your rendering problem is caused by a mismatch between the render size and document window size. Have a look in 'Window - Document Window Size' These dimensions need to be copied into your render window size in render options. Once you have copied them over tick the 'maintian aspect ratio' box, then you can scale your final render size as you like without cutting of any of the image.

Just as an extra tip, one thing I do after telling Poser to render in a new window is to make sure the pic will be in the same proportion as my display, and then lock it. That way, no matter what size output you want, all you have to do is change one value and the other will adjust along with it.

Additional to Tilandra's tip about setting the way Poser starts, here's a useful one from Dr Geep. See those 9 little dots on the screen? The UI dots? Click on one of 'em. This will save your preferences so that when (not if) Poser screws up and doesn't open a document window, you'll be able to get it back by clicking on the dot. A couple of things to note: When a dot is "empty" or unused it will be the same colour as the Poser background. When it has something saved in it it will be silver grey. When it's been selected it will be bronze. To clear a dot, Alt Click on it.

It's possible people are trying to answer the question from memory, rather than looking at the screen. Or perhaps you just never had this problem, and didn't need to find the solution. I did. You want to click the option that says Match Document Window see the double arrows (yes you should also check Maintain Aspect Ratio, but believe me that is not the final solution.)

Hey - there's a 'match document window' button! - who'd have thunk it :P I never noticed it and have been typing it in manually for ages lol
