Mainly for FWTempest who had some suggestions. This is the same floor texture, but I've shrunk it down a lot. I've still got the reflection, since, yeah, it is on a sheet of glass. I've also shifted the viewpoint, but kept the DOF the same, so it's slightly more pronounced. Other than that, desaturated slightly, level and contrast adjustment.

Here's a more photoshopped version I made while playing around.

And Bungalo made a point that it could have been done with primitives. Possibly, but not sure about the curved edges to every polygon. So, probably possible, but I'm sure it's easier in Wings.

Damn fine modeling, Phil! Are you using Bryce's DOF? If so, I'd like to see a higher Rays Per Pixel to get a smoother blur.

yeah, would be nice. but my patience breaks down. ;-) I watched the whole of Lord of the Rings, Return of the King (extended edition) and most of Spiderman 2 while waiting for this to render. Once version 6 (or 5.5 for that) comes out, then I'll up the RPP.

much better! :o) I hope you didn't think I was being harsh... especially since none of the other numerous (wish I could get that many) commentors mentioned it... but I hated to see such fine work, and then that pixellated wood texture... And just wait.. when a faster version DOES come out, you'll only be inspired to make more complex scenes, using more premium features, and your overall render time will hardly go down at all... :o)

Modeling par excellence and great texturing to go with it. I agree that this can be modeled using Bryce, painstakingly and with lots of patience. To up the RPP you need to go into retirement. As thrilling as watching grass grow. Excellent work Drawbridgep.

I love the modelling and the rendering. The only tiny detail that hits my eye, when I look at the reference photo then at your render, is that in the original watch there's a follow-through of the sharp edge of the face, on to the links. That kinda marries the face with the strap. Tiny detail though, the modelling is beautiful.

See this is why I should have gone with my gut and not posted the reference, then no one would have been the wiser. ;-) But thanks for just listing one. There are a LOT of differences, for example the fact that the watch and eachlink are actually curved in real life, but I didn't do that.
