Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2025 Jan 11 12:18 am)
When members log in, they see a page with links associated with varioius meshes. There's also a "what's new" link, as well as a new link for items that are compatable with multiple meshes. It's really not very hard to find things there, and can be fun to browse. There's a search tool as well, which I've used ... it works. I don't know much about cross-platform compatability but I've never seen anyone say that Poswerworld items won't work on a Mac. Perhaps a Mac Poser user can help out here?
we're working on building a new site thats easier to search and update. For now, I suggest downloading the PDF, using that to find the names of things, and then using the search function. The serach is actually quite good, as long as you know what you are looking for. I'll be updating the PDF shortly .. I do it about every other month. The clothing is divided into categories by figure, so you should be able to go through and pick out what you like. We use the regular zip with folders method, except for some of the older files. Havent heard of any problems from mac users, p5 users or DS users ... so you should be alright. Running content thorugh macconverter would be a good idea, just to make sure. Lyrra
One of the problems with the existing search tool is that if it throws up many links, and you click on one and it's not what you want, and you click back, the results try and update themselves all over again, which is slow. It would be handy also to have forward and back buttons for browsing through the pages.
When it comes to Poserworld, I take the expedient of simply downloading everything in sight.
Except stuff for the 'toon figures/Freak, which I do not now -- nor will I ever -- need.
At PW, I have never had to search for anything.
I have to re-up. It's one of the best deals going. Reliable, too. That counts for a lot.
Actually, thhe pdf is great! It is even easier than some of the web seaarches i have seen. (I don't know how I missed it at first...I guess I am like a trained monkey in that way!) BTW, I can use michael 2 clothing on michael 3 with something called "legacy features" right? I have heard of this before... I think I use the "mike 3 to mike 2" figure correct?
P5 on a dual G5 here, OSX 10.3. I've recently downloaded and run a lot of stuff from Poserworld into P5 w/o MacConvertor, and it works just fine - I just use a small utility (it's in the MP somewhere) to make .png files (Why no MacConvertor? I don't have Classic installed, don't want Classic installed...) /P
"I can use michael 2 clothing on michael 3 with something called "legacy features" right? I have heard of this before... I think I use the "mike 3 to mike 2" figure correct?" That's exactly right. :-) The easy way to think of that mesh is that it's M3's head on M2's body. You won't be able to inject M3 body morphs into it, neither does it have M2's body morphs, but you can inject M3's head/facial morphs into it.
One of the problems with the existing search tool is that if it throws up many links, and you click on one and it's not what you want, and you click back, the results try and update themselves all over again, which is slow. Right click on the link and open in a new window (or a new tab, if you're using tabbled browsing). Then you don't have to go "back" and nothing gets reset. If it's not what you want, you can just close that window or tab. bonni

Everytime I look at a tutorial on Dynamic clothing, I panic. They're talking about making clothes into props, running animation sequences, etc. It makes me weak in the knees, so I stay away from it. One nice thing about Poserworld is that they do versions of the same outfit for several different figures: Vicky 2 & 3, etc.

Hey guys. Is the only way to search for things on poserworld to sift through their updates? Is there no catagory search like DAZ? Also, I am on a mac and I need to make sure that the stuff on poserworld isn't just for PC. I see no contact number. Are these files generally compatable across operating systems? Thanks in advance! wes
