Subject: Has anyone animated a character in Poser then imported it into C4?

I have seen many still Poser characters imported and rendered in C4. Has anyone imported an animated character from Poser - such as one with a walk cycle attached? I would be curious to see an example of this if anyone has done so. Thanks.

Yes. It works very well usually. I can't post a file that large, though. I've got a nice little 'low end' video editor called PowerDirector that I use to make mpeg2 files usually. I'll see if it'll let me make some kinda small file format and check back if I can generate an uploadable video of a walk cycle.

...hmm. I should also check and see if maybe C4 Pro can do the same. lol.

Here's a little animated gif test walk cycle rendered right in C4 Pro imported from Poser. I sacrificed pretty much everything in the way of quality in order to come up with something that would meet Rendo file size and format limitations.

...oops. Forgot to credit the content creators. Lessee. Hair by Kozaburo. Alexa figure by 3dcommune.com. Violet for Alexa from 3dcommune.com. Some V2 mags (not really designed for Alexa) from Wyrmaster. Dress from 3dcommune.com.

Thanks for the feedback. It looks really good. One more question - more Poser related. Can you customize the walk cycle in Poser quite a bit or are the customization options limited?

Well. There is a finite number of modifiers, but they're on sliders so I suppose you could call it 'limitless'. I use Nerd3d's V3 walk designer, but you might be perfectly happy with the walk designer that comes with Poser.

...there are about 25 'walk types' when using Nerds walk designer. I think Poser comes with a good 15'ish or so by itself if I remember right. Not sure. There are also six "tweaks": Head Bounce, Arm Swing, Arm Out, Hip Swing, Leg Lift, and Stride. I should have mentioned too that you can choose any combination of any walk types you like, i.e. 25% P4 run, 42% strut using negative percentages if ya like, and then tack on whatever combination of tweaks you choose.

You can also make your own blend styles for the walk designer.
