Am I on the right track? I been working on this fireplace render for a while, and the fire did not come out right. I posted this image before for help with the light, and seems the fire did not look good either, so after some help from lordstormdragon and others in the Bryce Forum, I came up with this. Should I change something, add something? There are 4 spheres on the bottom of the fireplace with just half way showing (the other half is below the floor). Then I copied the 4 spheres and changed the ambience and diffusion and removed some of the yellow, to sort of give it that white puff effect from the fire, and moved it above the fire. On the right track or not? Thankx lordstormdragon for the help with the textures, I appreciate it.

Wood? I don't see any combustibles. The textures look great as does the fire. May want to scale down the brick size inside the fireplace. They're traditional style bricks but on a bigger scale than the outside and it throws the eye off a bit. The inside is usually fire brick(heat resist) and the outside dress brick(standard), normally the same size. Occasionally the inside will be fire block which are less rectangular. Nice work, Keep us updated. ICM

I am trying to do the wood part into the fire and it does not come out right. I added a cylinder put a wood texture on it and then put the cylinder inside the fire, in the middle of the spheres, but the wood comes out as if it was in front of the fire, like outside. How can I fix that? Is there a trick to the firewood? thankx

Reverse the colors of the fire. The hottest parts should be white then fade to orange. See my xmas pic in my gallery for an example.

A better solution may be to use a bark texture on the 'logs' than a wood texture. Here is a good one that I can't remember where I got, lol! Also, you might want to try Clay's volumetric fire for the flames, it's in the R'osity free stuff.

Fractals will always amaze me!

Aye, it's getting there, be patient! Fire is difficult to do. Remember that those materials for fire came from seven years of Brycing, they didn't happen in one night... We'll try to cut down your development time, if possible. Yeah, you need some wood in there! The link goes to an older image of mine, might give you some ideas...
