That's some usefull info right there! Some of my friends have been raped... I'm usually not a violent person at all but I'd be happy to kill the bastards who did it. -- Ray (only deadly to rapists)

Number one rule: There is NO rule number 14. There is NO "after initial hit" attack. Hit and run. RUN. Basically, no woman can afford to stay and try to hurt more somebody outweighing her by forty kilos. Use the initial surprise and RUN. Number two rule: If you do the thingie under 15, and if you do it really quickly, you'll probably break the guy's fingers. Apply rule number one then. Sensitive targets: The upper part of the foot, instep. Stomp on it. Knee. Kick it. Groin. Kick as hard as you can. Really REALLY hard. But, the groin is really not a good place. The pain starts only after a time, so the attacker has time to react. And if you try to kick in the groin, be aware that you can be relatively easily unbalanced. The instep and knee are closer to the ground. Aim for them. And they hurt much earlier.

They just started this online system in my area named after some girl whose name escapes me - it's like the KatyNet or something - which pinpoints on a map of your area the homes of all known sex offenders. Nice set-up. I checked for the closest offender and he's directly across the street of one of my brother's best school friends ... creepy.

Everytime I've been hit in the groin playing sports it pretty much started hurting right then. I've never had to wonder if I did get hit, it was immediately obvious. Besides, what's a rapist going to do after a hit like that, hit the woman then collapse on the ground?

It's good to think about this and practice in your mind what you would do, maybe then you won't be so paralyzed with fear. Also, remember to BREATHE! Sometimes doing the unexpected will catch the attacker off guard. If someone tries to abduct you, scream, yell, fight, whatever, (even if they have a gun or weapon). If I'm gonna die then I'll do it right there instead of being taken to a deserted place where I could be tortured, raped, or probably killed. (These are my feelings anyway). Years ago I was attacked in my home by an intruder (while I was asleep). When I realized that I wasn't dreaming, I began screaming at the man to get out of my house, I grabbed a belt that was nearby (the only weapon I could see), and fortunately for me he took off. I've always thought that by doing the unexpected it caught him off guard.

Anyway, I highly recommend reading "The Gift of Fear, Survival Signals That Protect Us From Violence" by Gavin De Becker.

There are a lot of things worse than dying, being afraid all the time would be one.

Well i would honestly like to comment on this but if i did i would totally go against the TOS. All i will say is "Don't believe everything you read"

I have opinions of my own -- strong opinions -- but I don't always agree with them.

On that note, I have gotten a couple e-mails talking about how date-rapists were starting to use a drug that is usually used to sterilize horses in conjunction with the normal knock-out drug to not only prevent the woman from getting pregnant but to also sterilize her. Within a few hours of reading them the people that sent them wrote again saying,"Oops, not true."

As a "victim" of female rape, I find this highly offensive. They'd always just get me in my sleep. I suppose I could have kicked them in the groin?

most of what limited martial arts training I've seen, plus hearing anecdotes about street fighting in general, indicate that most aggressive people shield their nether regions when attacking. It's a high value target, but can be hard to get to. The shin and feet are good ones, since you want to do your stuff, and not be persued.

I know from myself that I'm absolutely completely unsensetive to being stomped on my feet.. I don't know how much of an exception I am with that, but I'd go for the shin or the groin if I was attacked by a freak like that.

Having worked with some of the meanest s.o.b.s on the planet I picked up some very dangerous moves that do a lot of damage for very little effort. A very few are listed here..... #1 The eyes - stick you fingers/fingernails in someones eyes and they lose interest very quickly. #2 The nose - stick your fingers as far as you can up a guy's nose, pull and see what happens. #3 Ram the heel of your hand/palm up into the nose of your opponant and shove that little piece of gristle into his brain. #4 Put your thumb into that cavity under the ear HARD #5 Shove 2 fingers into that the cavity at the base of the neck just above where the collar bones meet. (4 & 5 will make distract him and could cause him to lose his grip on you.) #6 Don't kick or slap the guys nuts....grab them and squeeze with everything you have.....nails and all Your aim in this is to ruin his life.....after all, he's trying to ruin yours.

Well if we are talking incapacitating/killing try hitting at the base of the sternum as hard as possible. There's a small bone there that all CPR personell are cautioned on that can easily break and puncture the diaphram.

I think this is a ridiculous thread. Trying to teach people self-defense through TEXT? Come on.

Lots of women don't think this will happen to them so they never even consider what they should do if it did happen. So in this respect I think this thread is valid in perhaps bringing some awareness to those who have not thought about how to defend themselves before. Rape is a horrific, distructive, force, when commited on anyone male or female, and no one is free from the possibility of it happening to them. IMO rape should be talked about more openly 'cos then the people who have to live with the results of being raped might feel easier in speaking openly about it, rather than trying to hide it away for years and living with the psychological consequences of the attack. In my case I've been there, experienced that, and refuse to wear the t-shirt. 8P Catlin

that is so true...

anyone who thinks "it won't happen to me" WAKE UP!!! it DOES happen! so many of my friends have been raped that it's just scary! And that's not only friends at my place but all over the world. It can happen ANYWHERE.
And this applies to younger people too, there's plenty of sicko's just dying to go at kids, so warn them too!!
The psychological consequences are defenitely NOT pretty, like catlin said.
