umm... Neat idea, but may have problems. Most experts have recommended not using the stick-on labels on CD/DVD's. They tend to deteriorate, pealing off, taking some of the bits with them. There are some links posted in this Forum somewhere. May be safest buying a bunch of "jewel cases" and sticking the label on them.
Another idea in addtions to Misha suggestion is to print contact sheets and put them in a 3 ringed binder sorted by subject and CD #. I use a date format for my CDs. What keeps them sequential is to use the format YYMMDD. Then store the CD's in the mini jewel cases as these take up less than half the room of standard cases. 100 mini's only cost about $24US. As misha said, labels corrode the reflection layer. In a year or so your DVD's might not be readable at all. I've toyed with the idea of storing it on DVD, but I've chosen to store them all on my computer and a copy on my fileserver. The chance that both crash at the same time is very very small. Both run differen't OS's. For me that's the safest way at the moment.

Ahhh... I think printing a contact sheet out would be better. Then I could stuff it in the envelope. Less work too. I mean I don't need all the images on it but maybe around even 16 thumbnails would clue my memory in. See.... this thread saved me a bunch of hassle.

I use printable DVD's, and if I can't get them, I use a contact sheet and put it in with the DVD
Ha ha...I can't give any advice...but when I first got a Computer....someone got Me a Hot XP Disc! I wuz soOoOoooo excited that I wrote on the Disc with a Biro Pen....XP....little did I know, that My Manly and Muscle Bound Hands would push the Pen through to the other side of the Disc, thus leaving it worthless :[
