I received an interesting phone call from Curious Labs yesterday. Seems there are some cool things in the works. All they would tell me is that we would be the first to know and to get the info on Monday. They also promised screen shots and other cool information. I can't wait! I promise I'll share the scoop with everyone. Hope you all have a great weekend! Lillian

Uh-oh! The intrigue sets in! ;-) "Cool things in the works". I really do love cool things. Uncool things are just not cool. ;-) Now I expect to hear something cool when I wake up on Monday morning (aside from the usual "motivational speech" I give to myself in the mirror every day)! Don't let me down please. hehe. Have a good weekend! :-)

PapaBlueMarlin ( ) posted Sat, 29 January 2005 at 7:27 PM

CL with new stuff...hurray! I really hope its content for P5 over a new program. I've been checking out Cube's website (the suppliers of the the P5 figures) and haven't really seen any updates there though. I'd like to hope its added content rather than something we'll have to pay for...

Teyon ( ) posted Sat, 29 January 2005 at 7:44 PM

Maaan....I just purchased Poser 5 today...don't tell me there's gonna be an update now. Ugh. Oh well.

Who is Cube? Who is "we?!" I'm willing to bet this will be some stuff from Poser 6. It's likely the ad that "leaked" awhile ago really wasn't so premature.

Little_Dragon ( ) posted Sat, 29 January 2005 at 8:59 PM

Let the rampant and baseless speculation begin!

Who is Cube?

http://www.cubed.ie/

They made some excellent baby figures for Poser, with extensive Poser 5 support. And also a new dolphin.

Earlier, they had hinted at production of a new lion, wolf, and horse, but after the dolphin was released things became very quiet. Perhaps we'll find out why.

I seriously doubt it is P6 since they said earlier they were doing an intermediate version with less bugs.

odeathoflife - it was in an earlier thread in the poser forum... something about a poser 5.6, which would be little more than a bug free version of P5. I'll have to look for the actual thread, but I think it has been mentioned in more than one.

Dave-So ( ) posted Sun, 30 January 2005 at 9:37 AM

bug fixes would be good. Nothing irks me more in software is when the new release comes out with the bug fixes for the previous version and you have to fork out the upgrade price. Or, I suppose, nothing irks me more than when the bugs of the previous version aren't fixed at all :)

Let the rampant and baseless speculation begin! Obviously enquiring minds want to know eh? Paris Hilton marrying Vicky? The amazing Poser diet? Elvis involved in making the new version? Aliens abducting Curious Labs programmers? Cool stuff covers a fairly broad range I'd gather, how's that for rampant and baseless speculation?

I could have sworn it was mentioned by CL in another thread as well involving the release of Shade. But when I tried to open the thread I thought it was in, I got the message the thread had been moved to another forum.

in a way I'm hoping its not P6...
I'm just starting to get into P5...although I've had it since release day 1....but I stayed out of the cloth room pretty much until recently....

But if they could fix the render lock bug, that would be enough for me...I just had another one go down the toilet a bit ago...had to reset the system to clear it. and not only that, after the way P5 was released, I will be very hesitant to buy P6 for quite some time, if ever, unless its just too special to pass by...but not until the bugs are woorked out.

Personally, I hope it's just bug fixes...For cripes sake most merchants and users are still clinging to P4 & PPP. Not a whole lot of stuff for P5 specifically. Now, if they put out P6 and, if it's a whole different than P5,ackkkkkkk.

Myself I will upgrade once it becomes available providing I can still use my P4/PPP stuffage. At some point users/merchants have to move on. Imagine if we still had people making stuff for P1-3 o.O

I happen to like P5...once I got it I stopped using PPP.
