Which family borron are you looking for. There are two, One appears below the A (attributes when and object is selected)it's a colored squared (grey in this case). The other button (select) is on the bottom row, next to the primative selecting buttons, a multi-colored square. If you can't find it there, hit the circular thingy on the end, you might have the animation menu up. (the 'select' and 'animation' menus occupy the same space in the Bryce workspace.
Darkness:
"...I'd like to know if there is any way i can merage objects toget becuse grouping them good but in the end i still end up with a lot of problems... and also i'm looking into putting some into the MarketPlace soon and I don't want someone taking it all to bit's on me..."
People will still be able to dismantle anything made with Bryce primitives. There's no way I'm aware of to weld 2 or more objects together so they can't be dismantled in Bryce.

This is not my "second childhood". I'm not finished with the first one yet.

If you're worried about people disassembling them, then you're probably better off not colouring or naming the meshes. The kind of people who'd buy spaceships etc. wouldn't be bothered taking a mass of grey meshes apart, I think. But for your own convenience it's best to colour and name different mesh groups. Otherwise it can get VERY confusing. That's a very threatening, workmanlike spaceship you have there. Like it lots.
PS Something to consider is the number of free spaceships out there already. In order to sell, IMO objects need to be kickass, and offer features not available with freebies. You'd probably need to do a whole collection of stuff that fitted together in various ways, along with ship interiors and planets and all sorts, to give people the idea that they can build whole 'worlds' like they're used to seeing in games. Expectations are very high, because game-graphics are so fantastic now.
Aye, selling a Bryce-made spaceship is an ambitious plot, I think the only one I've seen that I would pay for is BamBam's presposterous model. Not to say yours isn't good enough, it looks fabulous!
And MoonGoat beat me to the Families technique. Without Families, one would be hopelessly, hopelessly lost in large scenes and models. Also, it allows you to create texturing groups, which is important... Seriously, I'm uncertain why they didn't discuss Families more in the manual.
One thing MoonGoat didn't point out is that you can actually NAME your families, too!
Just click on the family name in the family editor, and type in whatever you want. "Engines", "Engine Flare spheres", "Hull", etc....
