Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Dec 02 5:01 am)
Use the expression dials? Not being flippant here. Take a look at pictures of people in carious emotional states. The areas around the eyes and nose are sadly underused in Poser emotions but they can convey a wealth of realism. Flaring the nostrils, playing with the eyes baggy or eyes puffy morphs, cheeks and cheekbones, brows and eyelids can work wonders. Don't neglect the wince morphs, too. Play around with eye positions, dilate the pupils, alter the material settings to put some sparkle in them. Aim for a certain amount of asymmetry, don't overdo the morphs, pay attention to the body and head positions, too. Everything adds up.
Coppula eam se non posit acceptera jocularum.
And yet - You can add loads of expression and the result still looks artificial. Someone's face in repose actually doesn't have a lot of expression and yet still looks perfectly real. I wish I knew the answer to your question. Sometimes I think that one just wills life into the character. Good lighting certainly helps.

After doing a lot of morphing and texturing there is one thing left which nearly every character is missing: life! In comparison with a photo they look dead. No expression in the eyes and face. Does anyone have some tips (except PS) to get a individual and natural look?
