Subject: Help with Lighting for figures(dazstudio content) imported into Bryce

Hi there I'm a new face in these parts. On vacation from Mojoworld ...hehe! I've been exploring using Daz Studio and with its compatibility with Bryce I've fired up my copy of Bryce 5 and begun importing stuff into it. The reason I write is, looking through the galleries at all the great poser to bryce content I'm wondering what lighting setups people have used. I've read some of the tutorials and tried some of the lighting dome setups but test rendering with them they seem very slow (even compared to Mojoworld....lol!) I was wondering if there are faster to render alternatives that I've missed. Thanks in advance -david

Yep... Bryce 5.5 No just kidding... You need to work with the Natural Lighting first before you can Really Grasp Bryces awesome Lighting Abilities... Good rule of thumb for me is a 3 light System ... Front side Back....Shadows set from Sky Pallette and no Shadows on two of the lights....Soft Shadows if needed...

LOL ... yes I noticed improved renderer is on the list for Bryce 5.5 ;) You're ighting suggestions sound good. Three lights will be much easier to render than the gazillion of a lighting dome. I can work my way up to more complex stuff, when 5.5 arrives ...hehe! Or even take what I learn in Bryce and learn to apply it in Mojoworld ....muauauahaugh!!! Many thanks ^_^ -david

Hanley Landry uses those light semi-domes when rendering in Bryce. It adds a lot to the render times, but the results are worth it.
