Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2025 Jan 27 9:18 am)
To make face files you would need to use the normal version as you will be injecting expressions and/or morphs. But for making poses I use the blank version to make sure my saved poses don't include any morphs. I have also experienced some weird stuff when saving poses and then using them on the different SR versions of Vic. So be sure to save, then load V3_SAE or whatever and verify that you don't get any error messages. And if you're using P5, you'll need to edit the begining of the .pz2 file to change the version number, or P4 users will get an error message.

You get a message that says something like "Poser has detected a newer than expected version number, but will attempt to open the file anyway". Click "ok" and it opens just fine. But if you don't know about the message, you might not think it will work. If the message isn't there, no worries. Now, some stuff is P5 only... materials with displacement maps or stuff for the P5 family... so you probably don't need to edit the version number. Carolly
At the beginning of every .pz2 file, if you open it up in a text editor, you'll see this: { version { number 4.01 } But if it was saved with P5, it will say "number 5.1" or similar. You need to just change it to 4.01 to avoid error messages popping up in P4 or PPP.

Do I have to use the blank version to make poses or face files for sale or just the V3 sr1? Is the blank V3 just for morphs? I am a bit confused about the blank version. Thanks Debbie
