bazze great model and thanks for giving it out free. It is great to have a model like this. I noticed a slight problem with it though and because i'm new to all this stuff with 3d imaging i don't know how to fix it, i was just hoping someone could help me with it. If you notice by the image i have posted the british sign don't quite match up and the underside of the wing thus making it hard to do an image i was thinking about when i saw this model. Amazing our something small like this brings back memories isn't it.

GROINGRINDER ( ) posted Wed, 23 February 2005 at 12:54 PM

The elevators need to be remapped. You can do this by using the right click menu and using "select by geometries", then assign them to right and left aileron. You would then have to use planar mapping with the split option to get the top and bottom halves. Then place the bottom aileron halves with the bottom wing, and the top aileron halves with the top wing. Now the top will not bleed onto the bottom. This happens when you split the wing mapping, but not the aileron mapping. If bazze does not post the remap, I will ask permission to do it.

bazze ( ) posted Wed, 23 February 2005 at 3:46 PM

thanks GROINGRINDER, please do post a remap!

www.colacola.se

GROINGRINDER ( ) posted Wed, 23 February 2005 at 7:35 PM

I will check back in a little later. Of course, a remap means a new obj file. I will have to email you the obj because I don't have hosting. The map and template I can post here.

LordOfAcid ( ) posted Wed, 23 February 2005 at 8:21 PM

thanks guys. Groingrinder if i knew what you were on about i would give it a go but being one of the many new users to bryce i'm not yet fully up on doing things like mapping. I can wait till you do the remap. can't spend to much time on here today. got some charges to lay later so need to count them out as well as the leads and dets.

It's been a bear trying to rotate and scale the underside of the aileron into place so the texture lines up properly.

pauljs75 ( ) posted Thu, 24 February 2005 at 12:49 AM

If you map the thing before cutting off the ailerons, it probably wouldn't have that problem. (At least I know that's how the UV mapping works in Wings.) You might have to try that...

In GIF format. I have emailed Bazze the remapped obj and mtl files. We will see how he wants to distribute them. The texture DOES NOT CHANGE. The old texture fits the newly remapped model.

bazze ( ) posted Thu, 24 February 2005 at 3:39 AM

thanks for the effort. I noticed a couple more minor texturing flaws on the underside that I will try to fix & re-release.

I believe on Earth analog 17913 or E'arthss as it is known the Comordian Reich is winning and the pilots are actually reptilian. The same ones BTW who made it to Earth(prime) in 1947ESY (earth standard year) through an alternate reality "Philadephian Project" and are now in top public offices. Just and FYI Nice model Bazze
