There's been a bit of fuss here of late regarding making 3D clones of celebrities. Prevailing opinion seems to be it's not worth risking possible legal actions - at least not to do it publicly or commercially.
However, there's a few 3D Celebrity products (mostly for those who own Victoria 3 by DAZ) both here and at DAZ that bear a kind of generic resemblance to several celebrities. With a little tweaking and customizing you might get one to come close, then just map a good photograph to the face and you could be surprised at the results. You'd need to develop some familiarity with Poser, Texture Mapping, Morphs, and such. Then you could export from Poser and import it into MAX, if that's your goal.
Tutorials on these and many more subjects are available via the "Tutorial" link atop this page. You can also find a lot of good solid step-by-step examples if you do a search on "geep" here for Dr Geep's tutorial threads.
Good luck with your project.

I don't know if you know it but we have a 3DS Max forum here at Renderosity. Just for clarification, are you wanting someone to create a Poser character that looks like Natalie Portman so you can import her into Max, or are you wanting an actual 3ds model that looks like her?

Before they made me they broke the mold!

Ya I want a charactor that looks like Natalie Portman which I know that Poser dosn't make a person exactily like Natalie Portman also the clothing to my likeing. Then I can import it to max once the person exports it from poser. I will show the photo of the clothing once the perso will make the charactor for me.

Models of Natalie Portman do not exist because her twins L and L have not been born yet and if her fate is disturbed because of Poser artists before the pair is born it could alter history and cause a paradox in the space-time continuum. The laws of the universe may be different in 3DSMax. ::::: Opera :::::

Eh I don't know what you are talking about operaguy the Land L thing. What I mean't is that to have a charactr that looks like Natalie Portman not a mirror (Exactly like) of her the times that will be different is that the spots won't be the same on the textures and the ears, maybe the hair color and the eye color. Thats what I mean.

Sorry, I forgot to mention that the guy in charge of making hot babes here is busy working on Ashley Judd and Kierra Knightly, so it may be a year or more before he can begin a Natalie Portman...

I believe members here are punning you tooie32, perhaps not taking you serious.
All kidding aside, if your really serious, it would take a long time to create this kind of character in max, let alone morph a look alike face on a poser model using morph targets. We're talking days to weeks of steady talent.
It is possible, but who would take that amount of time and effort from their own work and life to create this for you?
Charging for it, if you were even offering a fee, would be questionable due to celebrity infringement problems.
The best and easiest method anyone could suggest here is that if you have poser and Vickie 3 with all the appropriate morph targets and are able to get a good texture to apply, you can learn to morph this character yourself in poser. Good way to teach yourself poser and the like.
Good luck.

perhaphs I may have to do it on my own I don't really have the money to offer them a fee to make the charactor for me also I don't have the money to buy poser nore the morph packs thats why I have been asking if someone could make the charactor for me.

I will remain out of money for a while untill I have a job to get money were I live is a hard plcae to find a job to get money.

Thats why I was asking if someone that could make the charactor for me. I will try to pay the person when ever I can if he is willing to do it for a fee. I was hoping if someone can make the charactor in poser and convert it to max that way he or she won't have to make the whole charactor in max.

tooie, you could learn to make the character in Max...you seem to have the program...or find somone to make character in Max...why do you need Poser at all? Do you know about turbosquid.com? [this response does not resolve the issue of copyright, which remains a serious impediment to be respected.] ::::: Opera :::::

I am never good at making charactors I have tried before several times but never good at it I have instead made scifi ships then gone to make a couple of interiers of a ship. It would be easyier if I have a person then morph the face to get it to the right charactor. After I have thought it over I can wit and make the charactor my self but I probubly won't make a perfect one I probubly end up makeing somone else than the one I am consitrating on.

leather-guy ( ) posted Fri, 04 March 2005 at 1:16 PM

The popular Poser figure Victoria 3 is available from DAZ3D for free currently, I believe. You could download that, and try resculpting the face in MAX to save you time. If someone here were to try (as a for instance) to do it for you, the simplest way would be to take V3, buy morph paks to customize the face, and give you a morphed version. Since you don't own the morph paks yourself, this would be illegal. You would have to own the morph paks yourself to make it legal, as the commercial morphs cannot be redistributed. So, unless someone is willing to invest considerable skill and time to make a custom morph in a modeling program for you for free, you'd still have to spend money. I'd say your best bet is to get the Victoria 3 mesh, create your own morph, and find a good detailed photo of the actress' face to apply as a texture map. I know there are tons of them available from various sources. I remember someone made a creditable likeness of Buffy on a lo-res figure a couple of years back, just by applying a good face texture. Unless you find someone who already happens to want to do it for themselves and then share it with you, I doubt many people with the skill required would do it for you for free.

randym77 ( ) posted Fri, 04 March 2005 at 1:19 PM

Poser is not a modeller. Poser, as the name suggests, lets you pose models that have been made in other programs, for use in Poser. If I created a character in Poser, I could not give it to you. Most of characters you see for sale in the MP or for free in Free Stuff require that you buy the figure and/or its morph packs. Even if someone made a V3 Natalie clone and uploaded it to Free Stuff, you could not use it in Max. It would likely be just a texture and some INJ files. You would need V3 and her morph packs to use it.

tooie32 ( ) posted Fri, 04 March 2005 at 3:13 PM

I see I have gotten the free Victoria Base pack which I just got. Know I need to get the morph pack but there is alot of them as I ahve seen on both daz site and this site not sure which ones that are suggest to use sas far as I knoe the morphs are a good price no higher than $20. But not sure which ones that is right to make the charactor. What ever I need to get which I need to buy will be fine all I have to do is to work on getting a job first to make money to get the items. Just need to get the right morphs to make the person and maybe the textures.

leather-guy ( ) posted Fri, 04 March 2005 at 3:22 PM

The DAZ3D morph paks are designed to be used in Poser, or in the free (so far) program DAZ/Studio. I really have no idea if they'd be any use in MAX. I've changed the title of my post in hopes someone with more familiarity with MAX can tell us.
