"where have all the flowers gone, long time passing, where have all the flowers gone, so long ago... ...where have all the soldiers gone? they've gone to graveyards, every one... oh when will they ever learn... " song popped into my head... bittersweet image with deep meaning... it's a wonderful entry* Tom!! (edit... had to look up the rest of the song)
Superb still life photograph that gets your message across.
And every one said, 'If we only live,
We too will go to sea in a Sieve,---
To the hills of the Chankly Bore!'
Far and few, far and few, Are the lands where the Jumblies
live;
Their heads are green, and their hands are blue, And they went to
sea in a Sieve.

Cyn, you is a freek - I thought that very same thing when I saw it and I'm a freek, so you MUST be too..... Tom, excellent image. Love the mixture of the colours, so close and yet distinct and yet mixed with the contrast of the textures. In fact, I have to admit this is one of those pictures that raised my eyebrows when I saw it. hmm. Damn fine. (",)
OK, I'm a little slow. When I first saw this on the "whats new" area I thought "what the hell, this guy is a little twisted". I just caught on to the challenge and Social Issue thing and hey, I get it! It really is a great photo. The color and lighting are purfect. The scene, heavy. Those do look like hollow points to me. J
