Subject: Vue4 and Mac 10.3.8 Render Problem

scaramouche ( ) posted Thu, 24 February 2005 at 6:53 PM ยท edited Sat, 19 October 2024 at 8:22 PM

I just noticed that after I upgraded to 10.3.8 that ANYTHING I attempt to render - from a simple cube object up to a full scene - as soon as render is complete, the scene automatically reverts back to an unrendered state. This happens regardless of the render setting, whether Preview, Broadcast or anti-aliasing quality. I've even tried turning OpenGL on and off under File>Options but there's no difference. Is there a fix for this? I've already done the uninstall/reinstall dance. My Vue version is 4.22-02 with Mover 5 installed Build 268492. TIA - scara

This is a "known bug" that, as far as I know, was never fixed in any Vue 4 version on the Mac. Drove me nuts until I found outyour render actually completed. To see it, hit the "View last render" button. To avoid the whole problem, just set your render preferences to "Render to screen" at whatever size you want.

I think 10.3.8 is simply too new - it needs a little time to give the developers the time to do an update. And i assume they are super busy with Infinite right now. And of course it needs a report to E-on as well. So that they know. BTW, a "Render to disk" would be a good option in my eyes.

The fix is to turn OFF your OpenGL. I hear this was fixed in Vue5.
