A man at the bottom of a deep well looking up at that little glimmer of light that sneak thru.... and call the picture "HOPE"

I don't think you got it worse than most indonesian tsunami victims. Or the 'medical miracle that fought cancer for 17 yrs and won, but found out recently that she's dying. She would wake up every morning and rejoice: "I've beaten it for another day!"

Try to attempt a picture that can express the emotion that is being felt to a 100% accuracy...show the world exactly what you feel like, and dont stop work on it till it is perfect. I would also suggest not doing cg for this and instead use real paint and canvas. Afterall, if you want to make a lasting impression, it should be something that will be around longer than a hard drive crash.
well it's been resently deturmined in another thread here, if you want hundreds of people to see it, include nude breasts in the thumbnail or make one that has over 1000 characters each with it's own custom hires texture and is photorealistic to perfection and depicts a perfect repersentation of a flowering meadow. This way it'll never be complete and you'll always atleast have something to live for. "I want to die, but I must live on to complete my 'master peice'" Don't knock it until you try it, this accutally worked for a few friends of mine, got them through rough times.
I don't know if this is personal or not-- I do know if you want to make a "last pic" you probably don't want to die. And I have a long record of wanting to die. Comparing one's situation to the tsunami victims or anybody who's suffered worse than you just exacerbates the whole desire. You want to die And you haven't got the reasons for it, so you've failed on both levels. Like I say, I Have been there. And I'll be there again. When I am, I won't be interested in any kind of art before I go. Pity, but an interesting guidepost. Right now, I do want to create something to go with my writing, so I don't want to die, more than I want to live. Just a comparison of realities-- and like all comparisons, this too is odious. Rawnrr makes a good point though-- nothing communicates gut level emotion better than real color held in your hand smeared on real paper. By the way black is a color. oh, and hope is ephemeral, kinda the flip side of depair-- it is hard to get ahold of, sometimes harder to believe in when you have it. Music, light, anything that engages the senses is easier to grasp than hope. I've pulled myself out with music a lot. A living being to touch-- like a pet, dog cat, lover-- no I don't think a lover is a pet, but dog's love is so unconditional, if you don't have a dog a lover will do ;)-- very hard to die when you're cuddling a pup. An incredibly funny movie helps too- Men In Black saved my @ss just last night. Do what you have to and need to-- you have that right, and damn, is it hard to live sometimes-- but give everything at least one day to change cause change will come. It has to--that's the law. Absolutely nothing stays the same. Take care, real care, of yourself. Life can be as sickening as can be, but individuals aren't that boring abstraction Life. They and you are fascinating, wonderful, miraculous. When you're through puking over the cliches, think about this, I'm 60, life can get incredibly sickening, painful, and unbearable in 60 years, and what I said about individuals is still true! Emily by the way, if this is a spoof, I don't care, someone somewhere is reading this for whom it's not. One of those people is me. Oh, whatever art you make, make everybody naked. You don't have to worry about clothes conforming and bodies are really cool.
"what kind of pic to make that would fit an artist who is sick of life and would rather die but wants to make a last pic before he goes?" Depends on how you want to be remembered. A few pics in my gallery may point you in the right direction. I recommend the following: Urban Paranoia Dead Guitarist Adventures Of A Dead Guitarist - A Day At The Pool Not Funny Any More Flesh Onion Peelings (All The Love In The World) Guess I Don't Need This Any More The World's Greatest Actor Poor Substitute For A Human Being Spreading Black Stain Point being - I've reached absolute despair at times and found that a creative release has helped. Besides, I had a "moment of clarity" about 7 years ago which convinced me that it's best to stick around and see what happens next. And no, I didn't discover God, whatever it may be. I'm still Atheist. I had a real life hero come to my rescue. So, draw it, paint it, render it, write it, sing it or play it, just don't do it, to misquote the Nike ads.
