THE PLACE FOR ALL THINGS BRYCE - GOT A PROBLEM? YOU'VE COME TO THE RIGHT PLACE

Subject: What do you think?

Have a couple of questions and hope they are not repeats, forgive me if they are. #1, when you see an image (space, fantasy, gore) and think "this is great", are you surprised if you find out a girl made it? Am wondering because I have seen some beautifully delicate images and then been surprised to find out a guy made it. Wondering if the opposite is true. #2, I have made some images that use tons of DAZ or freebies, then constructed and rendered in Bryce. Other people will render a picture in Bryce that only has a Poser women and no other objects. We put these in the Bryce gallery. Do you think they belong there? I am using DazStudio so I don't know if I should put them in Poser gallery or the Bryce gallery. Does it even matter? I would hate to think that people look at my pics and think its cheating or the image doesn't belong. Appreciate thoughts on either, thanks

#1: I've been surprised to see that a lot of the people I knew as non-gender-specific nicknames. i later found out they were women-type-folk, which certainly gives a whole new meaning -at least in their eyes- to my favorite catch phrase, "I want to have your babies!" #2 If it's rendered in Bryce, it deserves to be there. Now that DAZ owns Bryce, there's really no escaping Poser content. Add to that the fact that most of us already use different programs to model stuff and then render it in Bryce and.. well, it's all the same. If it's rendered in Bryce, it deserves to be in there. drac

#1 - Men are sometimes surprised when they find women artists doing images of sexy women. I'm not surprised women can do great images. ;o) #2 - Bryce gallery is for anything rendered in Bryce. If the Bryce render starts to get more postowrk than Bryce, time to consider the mixed-medium gallery. The Poser gallery will accept any image rendered in any program as long as it has a Poser figure in it. So, feel free to post DAZStudio renders there. ;o) Eventually, there might be a Studio gallery. Drac :D Thanks both for commenting on #2. I have been wondering about this for a long while now and won't give a second thought anymore. It's nice to know that they would be accepted in Poser gallery too. Agent, I would not hesitate to do a sexy lady pic but for some reason doing a naked man would be harder for me. Maybe because we see women more often in states of undress while the male physique is usually covered up. Too bad in my opinion :p Nancy

Burpee the reason you see more females in the state of undress is because a females body is a work of art in itself :) The male body is so ugly i think god was a rainbow person when he made that one ;) PS: i think you all may catch on to what i mean with that last sentance LOL

I have opinions of my own -- strong opinions -- but I don't always agree with them.

Agent smith- on #2..I've found that you can get parts chewed off in the Poser Gallery unless it's rendered in Poser(I don't have a problem with it, I post by the rendering program, otherwise they'd have to invent a Wings gallery..;), they even get huffy about Postwork (i.e., at all..;) You are correct in the freedom to do 'Poser' renders in other programs, but boy, do the natives get restless if they find out..;)
I don't have a problem using Daz stuff in Bryce; it, like Poser, is an excellent source of people for use in Bryce renders..just repeat..it's only a tool..it's only a tool..;)
I'm baffled at the appeal of men to women, but then I'm just a hopeless hetero..;) I've seen a few Mikes in less than whatever in the galleries..or at least the thumbs..

#1 I used to be surprised not because I didnt think women are capable. But a very nice surprise that women do participate I wish more would. It makes me happy to see women doing more technical stuff and I always encourage any who get intimidated thinking the technical stuff is a female thing. #2 if it was Rendered in Bryce regardless the endresult of the art I think it should belong in Bryce Forums.

Burpee: #1 Art is created from the soul, or whatever you want to call it. I never give it a thought, whether looking or creating. #Rendered in Bryce=Bryce Gallery......Add more than 50% postwork so now it's Mixed which =Mixed Medium. (I do lots of Postwork) ;) CD: Both male & female have powerful & delicate features, it all depends on it's portrayal, and even before that...it's interpretation. ICM

#1: No surprise here, our Zhann has been producing a lot of outer space scenes lately, some of the best I've seen in Bryce. And if you're assuming the artist's sex based on their on-line handle...well, a while back we had a post-a-picture-of-yourself thread, and I was wrong about at least a third in my prejudgement, LOL. #2:Had the same experience as Pakled when I first came to Rendo. Check the Poser Gallery header and then the Bryce Gallery header for difference in attitude.

#1: I'm with Tjohn here. I was surprised when Jan did Sci-fi scenes too. It's not a subject I feel ladies are normally associated with. And I'm often surprised to find that peps here are of the opposite sex to my assumptions. I was amazed to discover Catlin is a girl!!!! ;-) #2: While it is an unfortunate fact this forum permits work to be published here that contains elements from other applications (Pakled, Drac hang your heads in shame), provided that the finished piece is rendered in Bryce, it should be noted that Bryce Purists are held in awe by lesser mortals.

I'll have to bow low then, lol :) I think creating pure Bryce and/or your own models is is done by exceptional people or takes years of practice; both of which, I'm not...yet :D How many people think "male" when they read "Burpee"? Do you picture some guy in a sleeveless T-shirt, lounging back, bare feet up on the furniture, chin stubble, holding a beer and burping? Yea, I know that would be cool but it really stands for Burpee Seeds because I love my garden. What a let down, huh? :D
