Subject: A Question for Forum Members

Hey Dee & Dido, now that I know where you guys hang out, maybe I can pester you too?

My question for the forum is this: If a person like myself, that hasn't been able to remember the difference between an adjective and an adverb since the third grade, can lean enough here to be able to write a short script (less than 20 minutes) for a voice over narration?

I'm an avid reader but I've always had a problem with my native language of American English; so much so that by the sixth grade I had become convinced that the English language was developed by the verbally insane.

Case in point:

*"If a Stinger stings, why doesn't a Finger fing?"*Anyway, I'm in a spot and need to make a presentation on June 15th, a video presentation with animations, and this is what I need to write a script for.

Any chances of getting help here?

Thanx,

Joe

Hi Joe, Fingers don't fing??? ;) I would think that between our talented members as well as Dee, myself, and midrael that we should be able to help. :) I've got a book title I'll send you that has been my best friend. I've never been good at grammar, and this really helped. Diana

BTW: If it makes any difference, this presentation is to be similar to a Persuasive Speech. There is a problem identified and I am offering the solution to the problem.

Also, I use MS-Word.

Hi Joe If you would like to email me your script, I would love to look it over for you. deemarie@renderosity.com Looking forward to seeing what you have written. Dee-Marie

Since it is a voice over you don't have to worry about lip sync. SO that give you more time to develop the script. Do you have a bisic idea of what you want. Step 1 would be to develop your idea. It will make the actual writing of the script so much easier if you have it planned out first.

Gosh I'm still working on the outline. My problem these days is that I tend to wander a bit, detailing some subjects too much, others too little, jumping from one to another, and generally confusing anyone who reads my mess.

My writing is a direct reflection of how my mind works, and to some, its a wonder it works at all.

What I will be presenting is a method of electrical energy generation which cleans up bio-mass (garbage&sewage) while generating power. Liquid Toxic Waste products may be added into the slurry of biomass as well.

Please see link, and imagine one of these at a Municipal Power Plant size.

This waste is super heated under the solar collector using the desert heat from direct solar light and pressure from containment in pipes to 763*F. At this point, an electrical current is inducted into the slurry which causes the molecules to break apart to their corresponding atomic levels (can't place the word I'm looking for right off hand).

Hydrogen, being the most plentiful substance in the universe, is then recombined with oxygen by burning it. The process naturally gives off heat which is used to help turn the turbine generator(s) in the solar chimney. The bi-product of the burning process is water more pure than distilled. The water can then be recombined with minerals that were separated in the electrolysis process stated above and returned to the potable drinking supply, or; it can be trucked off to what we call today, gas stations, to be used for fuel in direct hydrogen conversion cells for automobiles. I have one of these in a model sitting on my desktop right now. It's only bi-product from converting distilled water into electricity is steam.

The remainder of what was once biomass, is used in various industries such as manufacturing. Polycarbon resins can be sequestered from the remainder, and used for making everything from pots and pans to eye glasses, to automobiles. Polycarbon resins can be made as clear as glass and stronger than tungsten steel with all the properties of stainless steel.

We have a problem across the globe not only in our country but in emerging industrial countries like China. Do you have any idea what happens to medications like Viagra and Estrogen after our bodies are done metabolizing them? They are leached out into our urine, and then go to sewage treatment plants. The material is so small not even reverse osmosis can remove it. If you are fortunate enough to live in a place where sewage water is not returned to your tap water, then it is released into rivers streams and lakes. These and other fuel additives are referred to as Emerging Contaminates. Fish and other aquatic wildlife is rapidly disappearing as many male fish are found to have eggs inside them from mutations caused by these two substances.

The system I am designing will allow mining, oil, and pharmaceutical companies to reclaim all these materials we are presently polluting the environment with. They will no longer need to mine, drill, or otherwise produce toxic substances, as the process will allow petrochemical engineers to recombine these materials into any form imaginable.

The subject of my topic will be:

Energy Production through Resource Reclamation
Engineering a Sustainable Economy

Wow...and here I had almost convinced myself that I was smart.

OK - when in college I took an advertising course, where we had to create, direct, and oversee the filming of a TV commercial. Here are the steps we took. Determine how long your presentation will be - how many minutes. From there ... you have to create a storyboard storyboards are essential! A really good storyboard will have each frame outlined. This does not need to be fancy I personally like to sketch a storyboard on paper, using primitive drawings - you can even do stick figures with little cartoon balloon text. You might want to do your storyboard in a program like Photoshop But, think-out and work-out, your complete story in advance. Once you have your storyboard completed. Putting the presentation together will flow! Of course, once you finish your first draft you will need to edit it for content and for time. Editing is the fun part and remember, every story has to be edited to quote Stephen King All first drafts are crap! If you would like us to preview your presentation either in the storyboard stage, or in the actual animated stage please do not hesitate to post your project here we would all love to give you as much help as possible :) Also, my hubby is a Nuclear Engineer, so, have an in-house tech editor if you need one :) Dee-Marie

Uh-Oh!!! Thats one of the fields I am hoping to prove is unnecessary for electrical production.

More than anything, I need someone to keep kicking me in the butt when I drift and go into a tirade over some of the issues surrounding this subject.

What I will attempt is a compromise of sorts where all the present fields involved with energy still have jobs, albeit slightly different modus operandi.

Story boards eh? Well I'm figuring 20 minutes, so that if the disks should miraculously get out to the TV Stations and played, there's room for commercials in a half hour segment.

Thanx Dee. I should be posting the storyboard soon.
