Here is the pic I was mentioning. To me, it seems the shadows of the mice tails don't quite match the tails. It could just be me, though.Ah. It is a great picture by Robert! A master of Vue! There is no problem with shadows. May be Robert (in advance, sorry/apologizes Robert, again it is only my 2cents about one of your best picture) may be Robert add too much GI, I mean the sky dome is too big, but... but it is great like that. that is not realistic scene, isn't it?
That infinite ;-) The sun could have softness... or shadows could be done with shadow mapping... sincerely you'll can make what you want.
Have fun! Be cool! Be free!!!

OK, I understand. I am just trying to see how the light is interacting. On the left side and in front of the cat, there are a couple of mice where the tail is straight, but the shadow is curved. It could just be a trick of my eyes though. It very well could be that the shadow I am seeing doesn't go with the mouse I think it does. My eyes are getting old, after all!
You may want to take a close look at the pics again, the shadows are definitely not corresponding the mice. It's not the first V5I I've seen this with, more of them do have shadow errors. Personally I'm not sure if it's a big deal, but they are there.

Due to the childish TOS changes, I'm not allowed to link to my other products outside of Rendo anymore :(
Food for thought.....

The point here maybe is is that you have a lot of light (and shadow) control. You can have lights that are correspondent only to specific objects and not to others. You can switch off the abibility to cast shadow - for specific objects or materials. I don't think there is an issue with shadows. If so all images would be affected, not only some specific ones that look a little weird. And i would have noticed that in my work as well - i work with Infinite now for a couple of months (beta testing) and haven't seen anything wrong. Ok, maybe because i am blind ... I think Robert should say a word or two to his image.
One day your ship comes in - but you're at the airport.
Well, I am making an appointment to get new glasses. It isn't a big deal, and I figure that shadows aren't a problem after all. It could be that there are multiple lights casting shadows. It just looked weird to me. The pic itself is a great image, and I hope that I can do 1/2 as well someday. Just trying to learn all I can before I get my copy tomorrow. (I'm excited, if you didn't know already!)

While browsing the gallery, I noticed a pic that used an ecosystem where the shadows seemed wrong. Is this common? I don't have a link to the pic I saw, as this is a general question anyway. Basically, the pic used an object as the ecosystem, and the shadows cast from those objects didn't seem to match the objects in the way I would have expected. I'll have to experiment when my copy of V5i arrives.
