If you download a free "model" for Vickie, you will have to have the original model from Zygote or the downloaded model won't work. Vickie to me is just a basic start. She does more than the P4 female, has more standard stuff to work with. You have a ton of face morphs to work with, and although some people think she's ugly, I just look at both her and Michael as a blank canvas. I still use the p4 female and male and I use morphs for them, but to me it isn't the same. You should go to some of the galleries and see what folks have done with her and I think you will understand. Also, you don't need to buy everything for her right away, there are a lot of free textures here at Renderosity to get you started. Also if you download a mixed model like Eve you will need the Vickie model. Hope this helps. I'm not pushing you to buy her, just letting you know why I did. 8^) Marque There are no stupid questions.
Yeah, I'll have to second what Marque said there. And I don't personally think she's ugly. It often depends on what kind of hair she has on. But her body in it's "stock" form is kinda butch if you ask me, but you don't even really need any morph targets to turn her into a total babe. And she does come with a terrific selection of morph targets, most noticibly in her face. And one other thing is, I personally find making custom morph targets for her much easier than with Posette, due to the higher polygon count I suppose. --Mike
I own vicky but I find I'm working a lot with P4 woman and Polyette (DLWarior's Vickie head on P4 body)... I find the Vicky body very dificult to do anything with so far, when I need the fancy joints I use Eve. The Vickie head mesh has great mesh density and it is amazing how quick a character can be made with the standard dials but those damn upslanted eyes do torment me even with the eyefixes that are out and some I've tried to make myself. Bottom line is are you in a posiytion to drop $40? $60? or not without sweat... if you are and your machine can handle a 12Mb character (someone posted a 27Mb morph-Vickie!) then go for it, its fun spinning those face dials and the facial expression are much superior to Posette... but if the $40-$60 is a stretch then the Free Eve is very powerful... if you make your own morphs you could graft the "Mobius resolution" head on Eve (something I've been contemplating) and have a strong tool.
I strongly suggest that folks take a look at Frederic's Joint Parameter fixes for the knees and elbows in Free Stuff. Download the file (.pz3) and examine the thighs, calves, and shoulders (not collars) with the joint parameter window open and make the same adjustments to your P4 figures. In fact, the symmetry command takes the burden of copying the JP settings to the other side of your model, so you only have to change the settings to those three body parts for the left side, and let the symmetry command do the right side for you. [Frederic's model only comes in P3 format. They are the same JP adjustments that Yamato made to her Nene character]
By DS3KAD- By the way--is there a version of Victoria with the P4 head? Given the lack of clothing for Eve, and the surplus of MTs for the P4 and P3 head, this seems like a worthwhile project if someone hasn't done it yet. Yes, there is- As bc mentioned, I have Polyette on my site- 3D Poser.com (formerly Poser Space Cadets)
Warrior--Is Polyette different than Polly? I like the regrouping for the Eve and Victoria bodies, but there are more clothes available for Victoria than there are for Eve. (I also think the way Zygote designed Victoria's body is incredible--especially in the way she takes the rescaling of body parts, very flexible in that aspect). I also like the P4 head (it just seems more generic and easier to shape without retaining certain facial charactaristics like the Vicky head) . Polly seems to be the Vicky head with the P4 body, which is kind of the opposite of what I was looking for. P.S. Moving the Vicky head to the Michael body was a fantastic idea. Considering that Victoria was all we had to work with for the months preceding Michael--Paul is a brilliant addition.
Polly and Polyette are the same figure (Polly being short for Polyette the same as Mike being short for Michael or Vickie being short for Victoria, etc). Polly = Vickie head/Posette body Paul = Vickie head/Dork body Bobby = Micheal head/Dork body These are just the heads transferred to the older P4 bodies for usage of the P4 clothing. A little trick had to be done on each though- A new neck had to be modeled. bc, that's cool :o) Does the Knight use the P4 neck geometry? If so, then transfering Bobby's head would be easy in compose- Load whatever (Knight) figure IF it uses the P4 neck geometry, the delete the head, eyes and NECK. Same the model as a diff file name. Then load up Bobby, eliminate all body parts EXCEPT the head, eyes and NECK, and save it. Then load BOTH into compose, merging them, then save. Walla- New figure.

Probably a VERY stupid question but... why Vicky? I mean, there are tons of free models everywhere so, why buy Vicky? Is it a much better female model? Has more morphs? More detail? Thanks, LV
