I have always loved the sight of women in fisherman sandals, especially with painted toenails and toe-rings, but that is for a different forum. Anyways, I have had fun using Silo to model a pair for SP3, but plan to roll them out to the rest of the Poser family members. They took about 10 hours to model. I am using Shade now to set material groups accordingly. I was wondering if there is a niche for these, and if there was any interest. Please let me know what you think. -The Starkdog

Looking good. They might inspire some "Sandal Epic" renders! :D

I love that kind of sandals! (the look of them and the comfort when wearing them) I wish you'll make them fit many models... and could you please include Sara? ;o) France

How easy is SILO to use?

Francemi, I'll try to make them for many models, and I do believe that I have Sara buried here somewhere in the runtime. The only members of the DAZ family I don't have are Stephanie, and the GIRL. I also do not have Koshini/Kiki family of characters, but I'll try to find something to work. Dlfurman, Silo is easy to use once you get the hang of it. Imagine the functionality of Wings3d and the workflow of Maya. I like it and it fits me well. I also like Shade, but tweaking the verticies can be a pain, especially when the curve goes haywire. Unfortunately, Shade crashes when I bring in an object other than tris and quads. But I love Shade's rendering capabilities. Here is another teaser shot. -The Starkdog

Thank you, that will be nice. And Sara really needs more shoe models. ;o) Be sure to let us know when they are available! France

Francemi, Thanks for the kind words. It is great knowing that there are people out there who really appreciate difficult modeling. Anyways, I still have to UVmap them, which will be a pain, and texture them. I am debating whether to have seperate pp2's for each character, or a morph channel, ie V3fit, Davidfit, Maddiefit, etc. What would be preferable? Oh yeah, here is another teaser shot. One nice thing about these, is that the heel strap follows the heel and does not bury into the shin. -The Starkdog

I like those shoes!

Starkdog, I don't know enough about modelling to make a choice between the two different ways of fitting those shoes to all the figures. Either way is ok for the end-user so I'd say choose the one that is easier for you to do. ;o) France

Online Now!

Look comfortable :). Since shoes are kinda easy to resize and re-fit to other characters, I'm looking forward to these !

Well I don't find it "kinda easy to resize" so I am very glad Starkdog said he'd do something about fitting these to many models. ;o)

The shoes look great although... they look a couple of sizes too big (long) for her in some of the renders.

Those look very nice!

I love having comfy shoe alternatives. I'd love to have set of these. :) Since I never figured out how to model anything beyond a cube, I'm very impressed with the detail.

Ok, I am pulling my hair out here. It is a pain in the a$$ to squeeze these for other characters, especially when they bend weird. So, in order to end the frusteration, this set will only be for SP3. I will try to make something comparable for other characters. -The Starkdog

Well we do what we can, heh? The shoes are still great and when you upload them, I'll make sure to grab them. ;o) Thanks.

Thanks again Francemi, For some reason, when i parent the sandals to her feet, they bend with her feet nicely. I then saved them as smart props, and then they do not fit well at all. I don't know what else to do, so I started to make some dynamic clothes. If anyone can help me with this problem, i'd greatly appreciate it. I've posted pics of this in the thread, Problems making props". -the Starkdog
