I am pretty sure that this "sale" is to clean out the inventory of the Special Edition that may remain in inventory.

Yeah, Dr. Geep, but almost every place (including Daz) has a 30 day price protection plan. If preorder people had actually gotten it before the release date, I could maybe understand, but since many of them are still awaiting their "preorder" it's almost a slap in the face to those who paid more then this new special deal. IMHO the smartest thing that CL could do for them, is give them credit at Content Paradise for the difference. That would give a nice "boost" to their content partners, and much of the sales would probably be used for the new P6 character morphs, textures n such. I'm not complaining personally because I did not pay more then the new special pricing, but I know many people did as a show of faith and support in the new CL...

To answer Gareee's question, mildly irked, but not surprised. I'll give CL this much: they've beat their best time. Last time they waited a good three months or so before snubbing the preorder-ers like that. ;)

I'm not going to comment on this whole deal at all..... I've just contacted CL about this and I suggest every pre-order person do the same! Keep it civilized though.....

Wait a minute-- is that price for the electronic download or the box-- cause that could make a big difference? And besides, I do think I got a fairly good deal considering I waited till people were actually downloading-- or just about to download-- P6. May have been an early adopter, but I waited till all the hints were out in the open and I could see what the new stuff really amounted to-- and what some of the renders actually looked like from other than CL itself. Nah, I don't think I jumped too early-- still don't have my box yet, but I do know where my Shade serial number is.;)) Once it comes, I'm gonna spend the first week trying to read the darn manual anyway. Even upgrading from 5, this is a jump for my technically challenged brain. IBL lighting looks amazing but almost physically impossible-- Lighting without lights??--shows how dumb I am, huh? Maybe they could have waited a couple of weeks though-- just a couple, till more of us actually had our boxes. But, all in all, CL, the new CL, is not screwing up anywhere like the fiasco that was preordered Poser 5. And anybody who thinks so has got serious amnesia.:)) Emily

When pre-ordering the price was $129 for either the boxed or download version. The only difference was the shipping cost added to the price. So it shouldn't make any difference in the base price. Message edited on: 04/03/2005 16:52

Well, it would make a difference in that I can't order the download version with a DSL incapable of speed faster than 11kb per sec. So the price would be moot to me. Emily

Sounds like a good deal, but I only got Poser 5 last year and still haven't made a dent in figuring it all out. I don't feel a need to upgrade to a newer version just yet. I'll stick with Poser 5 until version 7 is released and then maybe upgrade then.

I paid less for the SE with the Winter Queen and Shade7 LE. The manual and tutorials are much improved over previous versions. P6 has given me no problems, renders reasonably fast, and the new features are well worth having. CL did a great job!

I reccommend waiting til the bugs are out of it I intend to. Even if I end up paying more, I'd rather have a stable program. That is, if I upgrade at all. I may wait for Poser 7, or switch to DAZ Studio once it's out of beta... bonni
