Subject: I need Surf Trunks for David

Greetings, I've hit Daz,RDNA & Here looking for surf trunks for David. Does anyone know if soemthing is available? Pay or free, it doesn't matter. Boxer shorts don't cut it. I've tried the stock P5 swim shorts but I can't make'em fit just right.

You could try using his BodySuit.

The Planar mapped version has the material zones that would make it easy to get close to what you want just by setting materials.

Alternatively you can make a transmap to get any shape you want on either the Planar or Millenium mapped version.

Did you check out the Football(Soccer) uniform from PoserWorld? I have some textures for them that are free.

First... by surf trunks, do you mean really baggy "jams" with drawstring waist and loud patterns designed to scare away sharks and small children? Carolly

Yep, those are the ones; however, I just decided to use the standard P5 surf trunks and fiddle with them to get a close fit. Then by making body parts invisible and a little touchup in PS I think it came out just fine.

Looks good as far as the trunks go. Is that hand position a signal? Something like "call me"?

I'll agree with the others that you need better sand... there are some desert freebies with sand texture and, IIRC, ynsaen's Island over at Oddditty has nice sand, too... and the feet need to sink into it a bit, AND some footprints should be behind him. Otherwise, he isn't anchored to this earth. After you get the texture, you can widget with the shadows. It is possible that the shadow catcher might help here? I do like his tan (yum) and the POV.

Before it was "call me" is was a surfer sign kinda like "okay". I'm working on the sand right now which I created as a texture in Terragen and did some post work in PS. It came out pretty good. How do you create footprints in sand? Thanks

First... look at some photos of footprints to see how the little bits get kicked up as the foot leaves. It is different for wet sand and for dry sand. I just typed in "footprints" at the stock exchange site: http://www.sxc.hu/browse.phtml?DREAMID=46ea37475ad301ad90b753e6b51eebfd&f=search&txt=footprints&w=1 Then you get to decide if you want to do a quick bit of postwork in PhotoShop, or if you want to make a displacement map and try to position it. Rendering once with the map and once without, you could eliminate prints from in front of him with a mask. Being in sand, precision is a disadvantage! It should look a bit messy. ;) Carolly
