Subject: THE WITCH'S COVEN

You know I got this neat idea for a card game based on Magick the Gathering. Your a Witch you start out with a vanquishing spell. As you collect spells, you become more powerful. Each time you defeat another witch you get all her cards,each card represents a spell so you get all her powers and become a more powerful witch. Each spell card has a set of rules, For example the Manafestation card allows a witch to create and control a essence in whatever form they choose take , However this card must be used in used in combination with a transfiguration card and a essence control card. The game would play like Magick the Gathering in some ways. Except it would be a little more complicated, As you collect spells you get spells that can summon up demons and other nasty critters, And other spells that can vanquish them. Would anyone want to work on some cards? Oh this card game is played over a pentagram cloth in the dark with five lit candels at a dinner party for maximum effect. 5 players for each point on the pentagram. A 2 player game is normal but a coven game has five players. The last person at the table becomes the most powerful witch and wins the game. As a powerful witch this witch becomes leader of the coven, and covens then can play other covens in a ten player game match. you can have good and bad witch's and good and bad spells depending what the house rules are for each coven, Each coven will vote to decide if they are practicing black Magick or white Magick. White spells will summon up fairys dragons and other little good creatures with power. Black spells will summon up demons and ploterguists and nasty powerful things. So I guess it depends what side you like the best and fell more comfortable with. The more spell deflection spells you have the better you will be when fighting a powerful witch. Spell deflection cards are important they give the witch protection from a cast spell. If the witch runs out of them then they have to use the correct spell to counter the one cast on them. every spell will have a counter spell labled on the back of the cards.

As I mentioned some cards are used in combination with other cards to perform the spell because the spell has several items the witch needs to perform the spell. Some spell cards require that you have a caldron or broom or pentagram to cast the spell card, Or you might have to make a potion and need to collect all the cards that the potion is made from like Wolvesbane,BatWing and Eye of Nute. You may also be required to rcite the spell out loud that is on the card and make some kind of gesture. So this I think the game is complex enough to be intertaining without being too much like Magic the Gathering Which does not require several cards to play a single round. The reason for this is I want the Witches to collect the cards so they can perform certain spells.

I think the game should be called WitchCraft or The Witches Coven, I have not made up my mind on the name yet, Im leaning toward WitchCraft since it would fit better on a box of cards.

This Card Spell will stop an enemy from bringing harm, It basicly acts like a spell deflection spell card, However there are many incredients that must be obtained in order to cast the spell, What your doing is playing a stacked spell this kind of spell can save you if you run out of counter spells and spell reflection cards. EXAMPLE: Of a series of spell ingredient cards. Here is what you must do, procure a special oil of Dragon's blood card and Rue card. Add to it a pinch of poppy card, nightshade card and some thyme card, add to that three tiny drops, of some bitter wine card. (((Anoint a black candle with your victim's name and seal it with an "X", then this is the gesture part)))) ((((chant these words most carefully, to send forth this darksome hex: this is the part that would be recited from the card.)))) "Darksome powers of the night, gather round my candle's flame, send my enemy in shaded flight, send my enemy away in shame." Say this chant 3 times, on the darkest moon, The Old Ones then will hear your plight and will grant your boon. GREAT IDEA!!! I am a witch (male, if you haven't figured it out yet) and I love the idea. 'Bout time someone thought of this. So wadda ya lookin for? I could come up with some stuff and send 'em to ya and see what ya think of. Primary thing is do you want all of the cards to be male, female, or a mixture of both or do you not want any characters on the cards and them just be things (broom, cauldron, candle, etc.). I tend to work with male the best, but I can do female if needed. Tankred Let me know,

A mix od male and female cards, The cards need to be in two decks Black Magick and White Magick. Each deck will contain several suits. Anti-Spells-each card must mirror the cards of the oposite deck so that spells can be countered and cancelled out. Each suit has 10 CARDS ACE -10 manafestation - This suit will summon up Demons,fairys,spirits ect Deflection-This suit is used for deflecting spells. Spell ingredients-This suit is used to build a spell from scratch and play the whole hand as a single card. The ingredients suit is not a true suit it is used to build a spell from scratch. Book of Shadows suit-This suit has a spell on it that allows the witch to play a single card as a spell. The Craft suit-This suit allows the witch to choose one card that will become thier prime power, A power that they can use over and over. Vanguishing suit-Excercise and vanguises demons and other supernatural critters. So renderings of fairys,demons,witch supplys,herbs,crystals ect is what the cards are made up of. Also warlocks and witches black cats and stuff. Ill need to see what 10 spells I can come up with for the spells building cards ans what 10 spells I can come up with for the spell power cards.

Also some ingredient cards can have charms or talismans.

White Witches should be robed in white or blue, black witches robed in black or red. White magic will have stained glass effects on the card boarders as well as a blue pentagram like the one above, Black Magick will have the pentagram seen abouve with the goats head as well as a matching boarder on tha cards.

tankred, Show me some ideas you have, Any ideas on suits or how you think the game would be made better, And I would like to see any images you come up with, Im looking for a new age look for the white and a spooky demonic look for the black.

I think the red Pentagram will be the symbol for the Black Magick Cards, It expresses evil in a neat way. Also I went back and redid the goats face on the symbol to give it a evil grin.
