The appearance of that message was enough for me to unsubscribe from the Carrara egroups list. It appears to me that the calendar has been rolled back one year and I may as well forget that I sent in any bug reports and enhancement suggestions. The comment "a complete and structured beta-testing will be started later on" sounds ominous (to me). 'Later on' is not a good time to start beta testing this product. For the last year, on and off, I've been trying to learn this program (which I still believe has potential) but I could have used that time to learn another program and be growing with that program - poor choice on my part to stick with it. Even if I stick with Carrara and it does merge with Amapi, I suspect the end result will be considerably different for both programs - resulting in having to start from scratch learning yet another application. I'm still using Carrara - I've learned a lot of the workarounds. And I plan on trying out Amapi, but I'm uncertain about that direction, since it could be the same destination as Carrara. But that is a long way off and there are other modeling applications - maybe a year from now I'll be more proficient in one of them. John
John, Yea - I had the same thoughts when I saw the message. What the heck happened to all the bugs that have been getting reported. Almost sounds like they are starting all over again. You are correct. The program does have a lot of potential. I hope that Antoine and gang get it together. They seem to have a pretty large user base for a program that has so many problems (bugs). Thanks for posting. Regards, Clint

C'mon Guys, this is the first positive news you've had in years. Maybe the people at Metacreations didn't forward the bug report. It doesn't seem that they cared at all. If the people at Enovia are anything at all like the people at CGS, you will find that they are VERY responsive My experiance with Amapi has been one of GREAT technical support. If there is some sort of merger of the two programs, you will wind up with a great result. Maybe the first step is to have a plug in type of interface with Carrara. There is such a thing for 3D Max. If you install the plug-in, you can model back and forth in Max and Amapi. Anyway, give these guys all the help they ask, you will be helping all of us. I've been using Amapi for about 4 months, now, and I couldn't be more pleased with it. It's very easy to use, with tons of modeling tools.

Hi gang, This was posted to the E-Groups mailing list by Antoine, today. "Dear Dreamers, In my previous post, I have asked that you report the bugs that you find the most annoying. Our intent is not to re-start some kind of beta-testing. In other words, we want to get a feeling of what are the dayly problems the Dreamers are experiencing. Just like the previous discussions were about the features wanted by the majority. This information will help us to prioritize the bugs. As previously said, a complete and structured beta-testing will be started later on. Additionaly, all bugs found MUST be reported on www.eovia.com (no matter their severity). Once again, we cannot fix bugs that have not been reported. Happy rendering to all, Antoine Clappier" Enjoy, Clint
