"which for five days has been lacking red. erg!" -jasonmit Try checking your connection to your video card and monitor. I had a similar problem once because my monitor cable worked a tiny bit loose.

The cord coming from the monitor to the PC got yanked. There were some bent pins. We tried straigtening them to no avail. Unfortunately, it's the cord that's permanently attached to the monitor.

On 21 Trinitron flat screen I use 1280x1024, but Ive been to several 1024x768 web sites and the fonts becomes almost unreadable at that size so Im thinking of reducing screen size to 1024x768, which Ive tried on these sites and is much more comfortable on the eyes and quite legible.

Why do they do that? A cord can be easily damaged yet you have to replace the whole thing to fix it.

1024x768

Thanks Everyone, much appreciated. Looks like the AVG is between 1280x1024 and 1024x768. Analogx: Thanks for the extra info. jasonmit: Most small PC repair shops will replace your monitor cord for you. Probably cheaper than a new one. ICM

You can DiY a cord replacement, some are a plug inside the case, others are soldered, so if you can solder you can do it easy peasy :)

1280x1024 I would go higher but then I wouldn't be able to read anything. 8)
