Why shouldn't speech be free? Very little of it is worth anything.

I wish that I could transform like that. Unfortunately, it never worked for me.

Well, I know of at least one damsel in distress, carried off by a green guy who is undoubtedly wondering why he took her and what is he going to do with her. Of course, he could have an underground lake with a boat and tall candles illuminating the sheet music, but most hostages are more trouble than they are worth. Carolly

Just to alleviate any confusion - my, "Poser Man is a racist?" comment was a smart-aleck response to the poetic line, "He's off to the races, didn't you know." There is nothing more to it than that! I genuinely hope no one thought I really thought that there was anything more to it. ;-)

well, we punsters probably all got it... but I'm sure that someone was left scratching their heads. I'm beginning to think that magnets are a dangerous weapon... surely disfigurement ought to be as criminal as dismemberment? Oh, wait, they already did that to the males. We can only hope that whatever zapped poor pd has run its course (to get back to the races). Carolly

I find magnets attractive. Out of curiosity, if you were to take his breakfast cereal away from him, would you be dis-em-bowl-ing him?

It figures this would happen, right after an electron year. You've got your negatives and your positives and everything between them is highly charged. I'm speaking in Poser terms obviously so there's no need to move this to an Off Topic forum. If we were talking about something at the North Pole would they threaten to move the thread to an off-tropic forum? [I remembered the "V" tag.]

hauksdottir ( ) posted Mon, 11 April 2005 at 10:00 PM

Nah, we only need the "V" tag for whatever Evil Ervil is thinking of doing to our heroine. With all the computer equipment in the various labs and offices at that stretch of road, I'm sure that there are no magnets worth troubling over. And threatening a lady with a magnet is probably not in his book of "1001 Ways to Pick up... Brain Waves" no matter how much iron control she exhibits. hmmm... How come the Man of Steel never had a problem with magnetic fields? Carolly

hauksdottir ( ) posted Wed, 13 April 2005 at 6:14 AM

Well, if good things come to those who wait... the pizza man ought to be delivering a supreme pesto pizza with pineapple and canadian bacon to those poor starving folks down in the dark tunnels. Of course, if it was the black light special, it would have glow-in-the-dark anchovies, but we wouldn't do THAT to our earnest searchers! ;^) Carolly

Debasement in the Basement? Atrocities in the Attic? Skullduggery in the Doghouse? Pain in the Pantry? Bad deeds in the Bedroom? Harm in the Hallway? Disservice in the Diningroom? Lament in the Lavatory? Pestilence in the Parlor? Cutting Words in the Kitchen? Malevolence in the Music Room? Sinister Signs in the Solarium? Nefariousness in the Nursery? Carolly (and I'm hoping for skeletons in the closet, bad puns, and THE REST OF THE STORY!!!!)

: wide evilicious grin : Victorian houses have lots of rooms, so a few secret passageways and servant's routes are to be expected. Hmmm... I forgot the place where coal is kept, and if there is a nursery, there is probably a schoolroom. With map. :) My only excuse for forgetting the library is that ALL of my rooms have books. :sigh: Carolly the Anticipatory
