Subject: ML-L3 Nikon Remote for N65 camera... how's it work?

So I bought the remote for my N65 camera and the battery is fresh and everything... but it doesn't seem to work. Is there something additional I need for my camera to make it click or something? Don't understand why it doesn't work. Would help if the remote had a manual I suppose.

There's probably a setting in your camera that you need to change in order for the remote to trigger the shutter.... check the camera manual, I bet it's in there. I'm not familiar with the N65 but the D70 is like that.....

haha, trippy. totally wouldn't expect accessory instructions to be in the actual camera manual. that's pretty smart. reduces the amount of manuals :-P Thanks :-D

Speaking of remotes for a D70....do they work good. I think I want one as you can not use a cable release on these new cameras, and I miss that function.

It works well enough Doug..... it uses the same ML-L3 that jks has.... I found that some days it seems less sensitive than others... where I can point it at the camera from any direction and it works, and others where it needs to be pointed directly at that front element, for it to see/read the beam and trip the shutter. It was frustrating for me too when I got mine because like jks, I couldn't figure out how to get it to work.... I thought for sure I had gotten a defective one. But hours later I decided to take a peek in the camera manual and oh boy there it was...... press the shooting mode button and dial in delayed remote or quick response remote... smacks head

I am, therefore I create.......
