Hallo, i am working to build an image for the april contest. But i have to find out how to put text in my posewr scene without postwork, how i can do this? I am new in poser, and hope that someone can help me! Thanks to all Stefano

Might be easiest to just apply an image of your text to a Square Prop, then use a transparency map to make the backgroud around the text disappear. (making maps does not count as "Post" work does it?) And IIRC, there are some free apps that will create 3D meshes from TrueType fonts, -- if you REALLY didn't want to use a paint app.

Fugazi1968 has a freebie---101 things to do in Poser Part 5---which has an interesting 3d text trick that could be useful.

Wings3D has a tool that creates 3D objects out of text - freely downloadable from www.wings3d.com

And I thought the rules had been clarified to allow text? We might need to reread them. Otherwise, the one-sided square trick will work.

Which version of Poser are you using? Poser 5 and 6 have reflections; P4 and Propack do not, but it can be faked.

I am running with poser 6 andi have tried to find tutorials about reflections, but nothing came...:) HAs been decided about text postwork in the April contest? Is allowed ? Best regards to everybody Stefano

I've asked a mod to step in and clarify the text rule for the challenge. For the reflection, I suggest that you start a new thread with that word in the subject line, something like: "Help with Poser 6 reflections?" And say that you'll need settings or whatever. Ajax has some materials in freestuff which might help, and Little Dragon has done a lot of work with reflections, but if it is in a new thread, more people will find it and can learn from the answers, too. The text is allowed it is stated on the contest page. It will be the ONLY postwork that will be allowed :) Ryuslilangel Poser Moderator
