Heh, no problems :) I'm certainly not critisizing it, the pictures are just fine :)
I think the new light you added should be placed behind the giraffes, so that most of them are in the dark like in the original, but their outline is illuminated as though by the moon. Sort of like how the leaves are lit above them.

Adobe Gamma was the best calibration i could find before using the Pantone Spyder true calibration device (about U$170? for the cheap one). But the real calibrator showed that i was off quite a bit in color, gamma and brightness/contrast. But i like knowing that the web sites i build have a real reference behind them and will look good on any properly set up monitor.
I added the back lighting on #9 as suggested and made the shadows less dark. Thanks DMM. Giraffes to me are comical, inspiring, cute and yet powerful, huge, and invoking of fear and respect. What a wonderful magical creature. I've been fascinated by them since I was a kid. Thanks Chuck for the compliment. After the calibration I will review to see if #7 is washed still. Thanks again all.
On mine post 3 looks best also.
