This is a special reply for MaryK.

In Poser5:

  1. [menu] "Edit" ---> "General Preferences..."
  2. UNcheck "Use file compression"
    .
  3. Go to "Material Room"
  4. Load the Material on which you want to change the "Image" names
  5. Save the Material as "Test_Material" (or other name if you want)
(this makes a copy of your original - unless you use the same name)
    (exit Poser)
    .
  6. Look in:
    C:Program FilesCurious LabsPoser 5Runtimelibrariesmaterials
    ... for the "Test_Material.mt5" file.
    .
  7. Use a word processor to open the "Test_Material.mt5" file.
  8. Scroll down and find this text (below) ... for each image map that you have:
    .
    node "image_map" "Image_Map_x" {
    . name "CHANGE THIS NAME"

    .
  9. Change the name where it says "CHANGE THIS NAME"
  10. (re)Save the "Test_Material.mt5" file.
    .
    ... end of instructions ...
